I've literally just got it on the road matey, bought it last October and its sat in a lockup miles away all winter so this is my first week out. as such no idea on power, lol! its a totally stock F4R, 55k engine with a dodgy induction cone on it and a modified single box mongoose mk1 exhaust on...
ai it should be a good dice up, not seen that much variety in mk1's on track before so it'll be interesting to see how the specs differ and perform
they aren't that light chap tbh, my turbo one was 960 with half a tank in it. that was caged, poly windows and stripped.
hoping this one will be...
rofl, @Martin. you hurt the big mans feelings ;)
@Chip-mk1 there's around 20 of us at Bedford 19th May (a Monday) least 12 mark 1's I believe so should be a giggle.
Nice selection of them too, couple of F4R powered, couple of cup cars, couple with ITB, Adi's VAG 20vT one with turreted rear...
if you scratch hard enough, it is still blue ;)
@George182 @ThomasBrentnall - no gaying up in my beast..............ahem ;) more than welcome for a spin out though both of you....one at a time.
Right
finished the bulk of the work I wanted to get done this weekend, so I'm going to stick my neck out and say its done (no project ever is and even typing now there is 'tinkering' I have planned)
however, its ready for track is the point! and in full marmite spec @TheEvilGiraffe
and...
danward
probably me mate, turinis? RS192
oh and it only looks immaculate at speed, don't stop and look closer...lol!
think I spotted you as well pootling past
lol, thankfully they came with the car when I bought it so no worries :)
Chip-mk1 wheels staying ;) for now at least. and i'll get a couple of pics today if I remember. but the wheels basically touch the front bumper even after I dialled as much as I could out with the AST adjustables
been a bit useless keeping the project thread up to date, i'll sort that tomorrow
but basically its done, MOT last weekend and Tax kicked in first of May so road testing/shakedown has begun. couple of niggles uncovered, mostly due to the massive amount of castor the 182 wishbones have put on...
as above, the cost is the prep, not the paint. decent prep (no buckets of filler) costs a lot as it take a lot of time
I paid 3.2k for my respray a few years back but that was full hit in and out and some welding, including a new roof skin fitting.
correct, no seperate tps and no iscv as such either. as you say the throttle itself modulates to give a stable idle (also that's how the cruise control works)
you still checking the clio forums.................means heading back ;)
myself, I've never left, I've always had at least one clio since I passed my test in 2001, currently I have 5 and nothing else!lol!
mmm, seems to be about the only thing available, they do a 8.4kw one as well but its a beast at 3kg
may have to get a nosey at your at some point mate, noise isn't an issue cars loud as hell anyway, just effectiveness
which one have you got chip, I was looking at this one

but wasn't sure how well they actually perform and what your saying isn't encouraging
standard box is a no go for...
