as above, just slap it in the garage if you have one or park it on the drive, in gear with handbrake off. I wouldn't even disconnect battery, just start the thing once a month to keep it topped up and that way your cars still alarmed if any scrotes try to nick it
I will try again one day, preferably in a half a grand crapper I don't care about, which is what i'm hoping the new track car will be.........sorry Danny ;)
it is weird driving other stuff, toy clutches in them in comparison, I like a nice heavy one but when they wear they do go a bit silly heavy, the RB is getting to the point of being a bit stupid really so needs doing. its far far heavier than the mk1 and that's got a 4 paddle helix effort in it!
I have one still, had it fitted 2007 and still working lovely simple alarm, does exactly what it says on the tin and during setup you can make sure installer turns off the crap you don't want like the proximity beeps etc. that's what I did
rain? stop? think not!
I have one of those centre section rubbers in the shed somewhere, how come they are red instead of the normal black? I acquired mine somewhere, no idea where from!lol!
check inside the airbox, if its full of bits of crap downstream of the filter, its that
I had this, emptied the bits of rusty tumble drier tube from previous owners cold air intake that had rusted away and been sucked in and done, noise gone!
don't get hung up on mileage either, look for service history, belt changes and general feel of the car and owner. I bought mine for 2.6k on 103k and it drives and looks better than some 60k ones I tried in the search
ai, 80 odd squid for two new rear shocks and you'll be set for years, imo no point messing about....well unless you want to buy my rear shocks from the cup packed 182 i'm breaking............shameless plug ;)
2.5k will get you a reasonable 182 but not a minter.
personally I love the look of the 182, the exhausts do it for me, and the Full Fat is my weapon of choice as I like all the toys and half leather etc. the only improvement from the other specs of 182 is to nick the seats out of the trophy :)
ai don't remove it!! seen a mk1 on a rolling road go up in smoke as a result of no heatshield. less extreme if the cars moving but will easily ruin cables and strip paint/coating from the brake lines
she still scrubs up well for her 115k chap :) if I go mint its sort the little bits of surface rust on the sills edges (jack points) and respray front and at she'll be as good as new :)
belts and clutch need doing early next year so i'm taking the engine out so prime opportunity to get the bay...
I know Rob, but tbh this car isn't really about power, and I like the noise since selling the yozza!! its a bit slow really in standard trim, so i'll take a bit of a racket for the giggles rather than worry about going quick, the mk1's are for going fast ;)
mines on 115k currently and due belts etc next year and I know alternator, clutch and front discs and pads need doing too.
so next year i'm looking at around 600 odd in parts and a busy weekend. which imo is worth it!
after that though it may well be a case of keep it tidy for a couple of...
this timings going to be too tight mate, I need to be out by 11:30 ish really to get down south for some car part trading, perhaps we'll stick a pin in it until following week or something!
plus RB needs a vac/wash and the damn back box jumped its hangars yesterday so its sat in disgrace at...
win! love it chap and really cant wait to see it out and about, so cant imagine what your feeling like now!
reckon in the event of rolling it that cage will be okay.......I reckon there is more room for metal.......................lolz! :)
