Not planning on selling it just yet, I have a spare v6/172 bonnet here in Canada. I haven't decided if i'm going to keep it on the car or not yet. I'll keep you in mind if i decide to off-load it.

If access is easy then removing the pump should be straight forward (the sender housing and tank level float comes out in one piece), did my 172 pump last month with no drama.

Snappy has fabric that is a very close match. You can send him material from a spare rear seat for an exact match.

Thanks, I noticed in the workshop manual it stated about the 80 l/h Bitron unit. The in-tank system looks very very similar the that in a 172/182 so i'm sure a Walbro 255 will work just fine. As long as the sender and filter sit at the bottom of the housing and the pump diameters are close then...

Yeah get some brake clean and go to town and then inspect it after. It looks like it has been leaking for a while.

That is an unusual amount of oil, that is quite a severe leak. Hard to tell but the coverage would suggest it is coming from higher up.

boot floor damage will most likely be a write-off.

Fujitsubo removed, 5Zigen GN+ installed. 25% louder and 200% shinier (because that is very important).

Appreciate the kind words for the old girl. I initially bought the car because it was offered up to me at a price I couldn't refuse, I wasn't super educated on them. But its quickly become my favorite car in my collection! The rotary combined with the twin turbos is like nothing else.
