    Smashed into from behind...almost

Gap looked fine to me too. They braked too late so I would assume they weren't concentrating. It could also be the case that Mark's brake lights weren't working but I doubt that.

I got the pulley from here : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281470785919&alt=web You need to get the alternator pulley spacers from the same shop, I used 8 of the 10 spacers to get it the same as standard : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281476055349&alt=web The...

No problem Oli, whenever you're ready :) Yes James, nothing to stop me being there I hope. Just a matter of swapping the rack over and redoing the toe.

Cheers :) It's not too bad parking, on the move you can feel what the car is doing a bit more. I had a mk2 Fiesta before the Clio though so no PAS is nothing new!

Picked up a refurbed EPAS rack. I thought it was a 3.25 turn rack but it turns out to be a 2.75! I replaced my 330mm Sabelt wheel with a 350mm Motacorsa wheel to help with steering effort. It's leather rather than suede so doesn't need as much looking after.

    EPAS on 172 Cup

You can get the dci rack refurbished. 3.25 is by no means slow though. It's the same as a E36 M3 ( it's 3.25 with lock stops to get 3.0). 306 gti is the same, civic EG and so on. It's just slower than what we started with which is a fairly quick rack, quicker than an EP3 2.83 or DC2 2.9. I...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Didn't know about the perma-ban... Got him through Facebook. Turns out the 3.25 is a slower rack than the 2.75, no lock stops involved so I will assume the 2.75 has the same 43mm pinion as the RS and the 3.25 has the 50mm pinion.

172 Cup v Fiesta ST at Llandow

0-60... oh dear. Unless you're thrashing the Clio the Fiesta is faster. On the track, well if you spend 15k on a newish standard Fiesta or 15k on a shonky Clio. The Clio will be the fastest around the circuit quite easily, but you'd have to be mad to spend that on an old Clio...woops! Yes you...

I thought 2118s were meant to be heavy?

Don't always believe manufacturer's figures for wheels either, it is often for a bare wheel with the maximum number of studs, largest centre bore and minimum offset. So what you actually receive is a heavier wheel. My TD Pro Race are 0.5kg heavier per wheel than the advertised weight. Also...

I thought 2118s were meant to be heavy?

Bare Oz f1 is 7.7 kg, bare 2118 is 7.2 or 7.4 dependant on offset

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

I'm just using Brembo HC discs at the moment. My new aluminium bells have turned up, I just need to get the rotors for them now so it won't be long before they're on. It'll reckon they'll go on ok :) Make sure you get the bolt to hub type rather than the longer bolt ones.

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

Great stuff Oli :D I much prefer my RC5+ pads to the DS2500 and believe it or not the dust is better too! I'd say they are similar in braking to DS3000 but the dust of the DS3000 is nasty whereas the RC5+ dust comes off easily. No matter how hard I tried they wouldn't fade either.

    EPAS on 172 Cup

I've found a place that can refurb racks for £60-70 with a 24hr turnaround so its possible to buy a 2.75 turn one used and get it fixed up. Now I need to decide what to do. If they are different ratios the 3.25 will be easier to turn with no PAS but slower, still, as far as a non PAS racks go...

opinions of height for track only.

In that case you are bang in the middle of 205/50/15 and 195/50/15 so you could go with 570mm floor to arch as a starting point.

    EPAS on 172 Cup

This is a very good point, and something I'd like to know as I'm trying to source a new/reconditioned rack and can't find a 2.75 DCI one anywhere. On the old Fiestas the XR2 has a 3.0 turn rack and the base spec was 3.5 turn. Same ratio but the XR had lock stops. I don't think this is the...

opinions of height for track only.

On 205/50/R15 tyres I run it around 575mm from arch to floor all around. @NorthloopCup runs it a bit lower than me but he has stiffer springs. Mine would be more similar to B14s. If you run 195/50 tyres then you could go to 565mm. The lower you go though the more you compromise the angle...

After buying several belt lengths I finally got one to fit perfectly with the PMS delete setup and a larger 80mm alternator pulley, its 905mm in length. I got my new harnesses fitted, they're nice and snug. So with that lot done I took it for a drive today without the PAS and without the top...

Problem with PMS aircon delete kit

Mine had done around 3k miles from new assuming it didn't fail some time ago so it might have lasted a lot less than 3k miles. Yes I bought it second hand but the kit was new before I fitted it. I didn't notice it had broken because the belt hadn't slackened off with the bottom bolt being tight...

Problem with PMS aircon delete kit

I got told no, it's a motorsport part. It's a really poor design. I understand that its had sections cut out to save weight but it weighs naff all anyway so why weaken it to the point it fails.
