Ah right ok. Well it's safe to say whatever let go has taken other stuff with it. It will have smashed the crank sensor mate that's why it won't start. If I were you I'd be getting the box off and out the way to make sure the flywheel is ok. I'd say it will be though tbf.
Well I'm still thinking clutch mate tbh as there doesn't appear to be any oil loss?
2 options really:
Risk it for a biscuit and buy a box off here or eBay
Or
Buy one off here or eBay and have it rebuilt mate.
Labour is £160 to strip and rebuild. Price of what parts it needs is on top of that.
You need a jc5 130 box as its a 182, so these are usually cheaper.
I find that the majority of 182 boxes aren't in bad order tbf when I open them up.
I've sent a few via couriers now mate tbh.
Is it crunching into 2nd and 3rd, or from 2nd into 3rd mate? Whining in 5th is bearings or the gears are fooked, but I'd bank on bearings tbh.
Price wise you're in for a big bill mate.
£170+vat to sort the 2nd gear crunch assuming it's crunching into 2nd.
£380 (incl vat) to sort the 3rd gear...
Depends on how good you are with the spanners mate, but I'd say about 4-5hrs labour for a garage to remove the box and the same to refit. Add a clutch in to the mix whilst you're in there (£100) and then whatever you get charged to reseal the box.
That's the selector seal leaking or the casing join requires resealing. If it's the latter, it'll leak like a sieve tbh.
Gearbox out job I'm afraid in both cases.
If they say ASM on them or in the description, they're anti submarine mate. Most shroth harnesses can be added to, to make them a 5 or a 6 point harness.
