Done a bit more today. Starting to fit things now and not have to remove them which is a bonus. Still plenty to do, but it's starting to look like an engine bay again. There's not much space left!!I've fitted the forge coolant hoses so I can see the route they take and if they need any clearance...
@dann2707 @warwickstingray got the numbers for the items that wear in the gear linkage for you both! 7700 743 133 and 7705 010 093. You don't need 8200 201 750 as it doesn't wear out apparently, it's the part numbers listed before that wear. Give George a call at Renault Wolverhampton and tell...
Ah right. I'm the same mate, been here and there. Only moved this way for a woman who turned into an ex! That got me looking at a change of scenery and I found a few nice little places in Germany that ticked all the right boxes. Those being cologne, koblenz and Aachen. It just so happens that...
Yeah definitely mate. Still a lot of fit, measure/check, remove, adjust, refit and check to do though.
Noticed today that the ecu can't sit on the gearbox mount anymore thanks to the airbox, so I'll have to seek an alternative place to fit it. I need everything in place before I can start the...
Ouch! That'll be me hitting the limiter hard then down flugplatz and fuchsrohre as I'm reaching 135 on standard gearing! Are you on the standard final drive ratio?
I remembered mate! Ok so you need 1x m14x1.5, 1x m16x1.5 and 2x m12x1.0 blanking plugs. You then need 2x m12x1.0 brake pipe unions for 3/16 pipe to make the link pipe.
Get the Allen key head blanking plugs as well mate as you can't fit anything else in there.
Same as what I've gone for then mate. I'm wondering what my top speed will be with that setup as I don't want to be sitting on the limiter in 5th gear at the ring. My limiter will be 8k so not the nicest place to be sat for any length of time!
I do that also. Regularly. Lol! Good news on the sale mate as well. I've got to be honest, I wouldn't want to see the car again if it were mine. That's one of the main reasons I dismantled my turboed mk3 Astra with @not normal dan and then scrapped the shell! Couldn't face seeing someone else...
There's nowhere I could put it now mate unless I put it as a remote servo similar to what was found on novas and stuff.
Yeah the nimbus should help a lot, or at least I hope so. Having no skin on the underside of the bonnet will also help to get the heat out. I don't want to vent the bonnet if...
The brake reservoir is still in the original position mate where you find it in any other Clio. It's just hidden on mine by the nimbus. The coolant reservoir was what I had to relocate and it's now residing in its new home.
Ooh almost forgot, I've upgraded a few items already. These should be arriving tomorrow. Nothing impressive, just something for if I need more power. Lol!
And a cheeky edit: ordering a f**king oil filler cap tomorrow! Keep forgetting!
I have my moments. Lol!
Yeah I think they're a lot easier than the jc5's from what I've seen. Wouldn't be for fitting a diff by any chance?!
Lol! Thanks mate!
Just a little update as I've done a great deal of f**k all on it tbh. I've made a heat shield to divert some of the radiant heat away from the inlet and the coil on plug setup.
I've also fitted the gearbox, so now everything is sitting on it's mounts and all bolted up.
Here's a couple of pics...
