Well the oil could be the cause of your crunch, but what stuff was replaced as part of your rebuild? Who did it?
Personally I'd get that oil out of the box asap and run it on the oe oil for the time being. The brass synchros can be attacked by the oil if it's the incorrect stuff.
I'd pretty much bet that they lost it coming over the bump just before entry into the left hander (schwedenkreuz) on the straight section (flugplatz). It's one of the fastest sections of the circuit with proper cars pulling 170+. In the clio I'm pulling a measly 135+, so if the Meg driver was on...
Renault Wolverhampton is the place for the items you need mate, but I can't comment on the price of them as it's not something I've bought.
The seal I'm on about is the original type that requires the box stripping. Easy when you know how, just time consuming.
Camber first, then tracking. You need to do the tracking immediately afterwards though ideally as you will be getting massive amounts of toe in after camber adjustment.
Sounds like your pump is on its way out too I'm afraid.
Yeah piece of piss mate. It's a bit tight for space but it's doable. M12x1, M14x1 and M16x1 from memory. The last 2 may be 1.25/1.5 but without looking I can't say 100%. I'll have a look on my spare rack on Monday night when I'm back in work.
I'll hazard a guess that they're possibly universal or superceded by a better design. Give me all the numbers off your box and I'll have a word with my Renault man. He's s**t hot tbh.
Here you go mate! This fixes on to this:and is hidden by this:Your bush may well be knackered after all though!! I've just checked mine and it has play. Yet more parts to order from Renault!! Lol
Yeah that will definitely cause the gearstick to feel sloppy mate, but it won't cause the side to side movement. It could be the bush in the arm itself.
Yeah I would've done mate, but @Tony Hunter did me a good price on his old Quaife so it was a no brainer for me really.
Cheers, there seems to be a fair few looking forward to seeing it run. Myself included!
