I think I might get the rest of the car up to spec first, cage and seats and put it on a diet.
Just sorted an alloy bonnet, aircon delete and vibratechnics engine mounts.
do a few events and go from there!
...about a month later.
In the mean time I got a sabelt harness purely so I could legally and safely drive the car to him. Also got some vibratechnics engine mounts.
Then yesterday I took the car down to Clio Turbo, left the car in the very capable hands of Andy and his team. Now I'm playing...
...but I keep it on boost. I could easily get over 30mpg daily and had 42mpg on the motorway.
Vibrations I don't notice but I think the vibratechnics are vital mounts if running anything over 230bhp, the thing I would change if I was doing it all again is I'd keep stock springs and top mounts...
I barely noticed a difference between stock mounts and the Vibratechnics.... But as I asked Andy to fit these as part of the conversion I was probably too busy trying to control the increased torque steer to notice any extra vibration that these gave off.
I'll email him to check, I only moved to adaptronic early this year so may already be on the current version. Mines much smoother than previous though. The vibratechnics are good mate not as bad as people make out.
...with trophy rear shocks
OMP steering wheel
Alpine head unit
Flocked dash
Freshly serviced Inc sparkplugs. Also had new sump gasket.
Vibratechnics engine and gearbox mounts.
POWERFLEX dogbone
It seemed to tick all the boxes. So we headed up to 519 to collect the car. The 2 hour journey on...
Ordered these brake ducts...http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/321767058814
Getting ready for track has meant I've bought a vibratechnics engine mount..cheers @DannyR not fitted yet though as at work.
Not ideal to be going on track without buckets or a cage or even decent suspension but better to go and...
...Whiteline rear anti roll bar
Black series powerflex inner ARB bush
Powerflex dogbone bush
Black series powerflex steering rack bushes
Vibratechnics solid engine mounts
That's all I can think of right now, i've most likely missed loads off and it doesn't include all the sensors changed over...
Even though the vibratechnics and ktec ones are the same mounts, go with the ktec ones as the plates are powder coated and will give you better protection.
Ive tried Euro's and GSF they don't do them (only the dogbone mount), wanted to avoid Vibratechnics as I would like to try and keep the car as standard as possible.
...drive much straighter and the steering feels better so thats a bonus!
Just need some sort of cold air feed now ideally and to get the vibratechnics engine mount.
Also with suspension I think I've decided to go for the cup dampers and eibach prolines the advantages being price, low cars...
Sold the cup spoiler and going to be purchasing a vibratechnics engine mount. So I've saved at least a kilo of weight putting the sport spoiler back on and also caused less drag
Also got rid of the pointless sound deadening tar by the rear seats...
Minus 238 grams because of the mat...
I was using aftermarket K-Tec/Vibratechnics mounts so they went in easy, it's getting the oem ones out that was a pain in the arse.
Are you replacing them with new oem mounts?
...in 2014.
The car is now to be treated to a rebuilt gearbox with Quaife diff and PMS shifter, and then some more polybushes. The vibratechnics really don't annoy me, the car doesn't vibrate that much, only one piece of plastic around the window vibrates.
My pretty worn RSRs are also coming...
...In the R-Racing Pod. Now to work out what to set everything too.
Oil and filter change were a no brainer at this stage
Also fitted Vibratechnics Engine/Gearbox mounts and a poly bushed dogbone. With some nice new new bolts. Might paint lacquer them to try and keep them none rusty...
...strips
Eibach camber bolts
Goodridge brake lines
Brembo HC discs (as they were only £35 from Kam Racing)
Getting DS2500 front pads from Chris and then just need a set of AD08R tyres or similar.
Debating whether to bother with the Vibratechnics or not as the standard mounts seem in good...
Had some bad news last week finding out my Liquid Yellow R26 needs an engine rebuild http://www.cliosport.net/threads/tims-ly-r26-forged-engine-build.636882/
As the R26 is going to be off the road for a while and I've got a Nurburgring trip in April I decided to buy another car to use.
I...
All the new parts have been fitted The front end turns in so much better, and the the vibratechnics engine mounts and polybushed dog bone mount have tightened everything up nicely. The only problem I have is the PMS ac delete eyebolt is threaded so a new one is on order, and will hopefully...
Today I changed the oil & filter. Only done 2k miles since the last change!
Also changed the upper engine mount for a vibratechnics while I waited for the oil to drain. Pulled the engine forward when I did it as I read I should. Now I can't get it in first or reverse very easily lol
Will have to...
