Had read a lot of people use them and feed back in via cigarette lighter. Problem is I'll be trying to store the car inside as much as possible (granted it did spend most its time outside this year but that was till I got some space cleared that I could use and leave it without being in someones...
There is power, but being on a farm in a shed Im a bit wary of leaving a battery connected and a constant power supply connected up just incase.
Will throw a charger on it every wee while when Im around to keep on top of it.
And definately no bear strength here when tightening battery terminals...
On both cars its been the negative earth clamp that has been poor, fully tightened up and it can still be rotated easily and probably pulled off if enough force is applied
Iv used them on paint for years. Ordered some from a local detailing supplier and the cloths he supplied / uses are the exact same pile thickness as the Costco ones. Granted you do get thicker ones but theres nothing wrong with the smaller, less plush ones. I find them a lot easier to work with...
Having a trawl around and seems that this is the ideal solution that Im looking for. Anyone used them? Seem to get good reviews, simple and effective

Would use it without the fusible link as no need for radio memory or to leave the...
Looking to fit a simple battery isolator into my Phase 1 clio for times when its lying in storage unused to prevent the battery draining and also incase of any electrical issues
Anyone recommend a simple method, would it be ok just to tie into the positive feed to the battery somewhere and wire...
Just taken delivery of some krystal kleen detail products ; blizzard snowfoam, screenwash and a selection of their air fresheners
Heard good reports about their snow foam so looking forward to trying it out, air fresheners smell good aswell with a quick try
At this stage Im pretty sure fitting the battery in the car isnt an option as I'll be entering in road going production class. Otherwise battery relocation wouldve been quite high on my to do list. Probably wont happen unless I go for modified class
May take one step at a time and go for an oddysey which is 7kgs but still lighter than standard and then maybe upgrade to li ion at a later date
Thanks for the advice / experiences
Looking for reccomendations for a lithium ion race battery.
Was looking into the usual odyssey batteries until someone mentioned li ion ones and are alot lighter.
Anyone running one and got experience / reccomendations?
Get properly started and stuck into it
New wishbones, track rod ends and tie rods
Strip carpet, remove sound deadening
Sort out harness mounting points
Fit seats and harness's
Replace cat as its rattling and really annoying
Rota slipstreams to respray anthracite
Buy 2 x Toyo R1R's and swap...
Parkers site is good for towing weights. Also, you should be able to find out the weight of your trailer from your manufacturers website.
Theres also the licence side of it aswell, depending when you passed your test you may need to sit an additional test to tow over 3500kg combined weight (tow...
I use the costco aluminium one.
Compared to my 3 tonne SGS one its as light as a feather!
Costco one is sturdy enough for alot of use at home, yet isnt too big to throw in the boot to bring along to a track day / sprint & hillclimb
And with it being a decent jack, I dont have to worry about...
How much does it raise the rev limit by? I presume its safe and no supporting mods required to accomodate the raised limit?
I'll be competing in sprints / hillclimbs next year and thinking thag extra revs may be handy for times when its not worth changing up a gear on short, twisty sprints
Iv been looking into this lately and seems to be fine either way. Some weld it to hold it in place as well as just having it sandwiched through, more somif you plan on unbolting the eyelet so that you dont need a 2nd pair of hands below the car
Some just weld the plate itself into the car on the...
Car looks spot on Neil A, seen the same ones in anthracite on a silver ph1. What wheels is that? Look a little like rota slipstreams but hard to tell obviously with movement
For the toyo fans is the R1R not allowed? Seen folk use them as wets for track days etc as their good in the wet as well as dry
Im still currently trying to decide on a set of tyres for sprint/hillclimbs aswell. Been looking at the usual Nankangs and Federals and will keep my R1Rs I have just...
Car wont be used in winter so least that opens up the option a bit more.
Hoping to be running two sets next year so can go for something more track focused and like you say have something for wet days / road tyre. Other option Id thought if for purely track was Kumho V70 in a soft compound.
All...
Currently preparing my 172 Ph1 Clio for entering in the Scottish sprints this year, along with the odd hillclimb and trackday (particularly Knockhill and Superlap Scotland) Will be using it on the road also, although wont be my main car.
Going through my possible tyres choices and looking to see...
Depends what end of the industry your in and how risky or oil price / weather dependant it is. Some guys only get work in summer months and on projects etc. Others when companies are willing to spend millions on drilling programmes.
By losing your retention im guessing you were adhoc anyway...
Only ever used Tesco Momentum or Shell V Power
Iv only used Tesco Momentum or Shell V Power in my cars / the wifes (unless a 1.0 / 1.2 which was just her first car)
Golf R32, Integra Type R, Twingo RS and a Ph1 172
When searching the cobra x low subframes dont seem to appear, are they no longer made or limited suppliers?
I see what you mean with the frame, basically the clio one is flat on the floor and isnt offset / raised at one side
Currently researching what I'll need to purchase to fit my Mirco bucket seats.
Been talking to GSM with regards to frames etc and wondered what peoples opinions on here were with the various optuions, if they have past experience with them.
Basically looking at Cobra lowered subframe and side...
Trying to cure a misfire. New plugs fitted along with leads as old ones were found to be crushed / melted in parts. Still no joy so on to injectors next

Years MOT and a recent rebuild 18k ago.
Welcome! Ever thought about entering the local sprints and hillclimbs?
Where was this one advertised? Just asking as Iv been browsing various classifieds for a hillclimb / sprint project and maybe came across it.
Well not so much new as Iv been registered for a few years but a new clio owner using the site now.
Just bought myself a Ph1 172 for a sprint and hillclimb project. I'll get a project thread started when I get cracking with the work. Car was bought up here but is originally from down near...
