Just an update it turned out to be the ht leads causing the issue

Hi guys Basically recently when I first start my car it has an awful misfire and really stutters when driving,if I leave it to warm up or once it's up to temperature it seems to run okay,any ideas? Thanks Ryan

When there's ingress in the loom u just never know it could work and u might not have anymore problems but it could stop working whilst it's down and u might not be able to get it up again,chances are if it does do that u just take the speaker out and disconnect and connect it again and it will...

To sort the problem u will need a new door loom and possibly regulator depends if the unit on the regulator has ingress on the terminals

Take the yellow insert out of the connector with a flat blade screwdriver and u will see the discolouration tell tale sign it's the cause is if it starts working when u reconnect it but I would put money on water ingress being the issue

Take the speaker out and have a look at the regulator connector bet it will have water ingress in the terminals,mk3 clios suffer with it,the speaker grill comes out then u need a t20 screwdriver to take the speaker out,disconnect the connector and take the yellow insert out the connector the 3rd...

My 172 runs awful when cold think it's pretty normal tbh once mine warms up it's fine Ryan

I work at a Renault dealer in Basingstoke if you still need it put on clip Ryan

Mind you I did put a new ball joint on that side a couple of weeks ago so that's two things replaced on that side

dunno if its that the rubber has worn or if maybe the bearing has an issue or something

Haven't had a chance to have a look but when I fitted the rubber top mount it did have a little bit of play even with the nut done up I didn't know if when I put the top nut on it would stop the play in the rubber top mount?

Quite a bit out I mean the old shock was totally shot wasn't much point in having it on there the amount of shock it was giving me,just didn't realise it would knock the tracking out by probs about 20 degrees to the left

As above I fitted a new n/s/f shock absorber to my 172 cup yesterday as it was totally mullered but it has knocked my tracking out well to the left,is it because I didn't replace both at the same time or is it normal for it to need tracking after? ryan

I had a rattle from my engine bay that sounded similar and it turned out to be the fuel rail cover on the front was loose might be worth a check see if it's tight?

Rear exhaust mount is shot,n/s/f shock absorber is completely shot,pas pump has a slight leak,the cold air feed to my induction box join is missing,cambelt needs doing,wheels need respraying,rear washer doesn't work and my steering wheel has melted but apart from that think I'm all good lol Ryan

Check for water in the ballast unit on the bottom of the headlight,swap the ballast packs over and see if I goes to the other light

The connector will be burnt out to the resistor its a problem with the wiring getting too hot,when u get a new resistor u will get modified wiring to cope with the power required I see it all the time clios meganes and scenic suffer with it,problem u will have is the resistor goes over the top...

It should go out by itself if it's rectified but after a misfire it's always worth resetting the adaptives of the engine but it's not compulsory to do it,u should get a diagnostic test carried out coz if the lights on then it will tell u exactly what is wrong may save time and hassle,the rear...

With no lights on u will struggle to find the issue really needs to go on clip to check all your parameters to try and pinpoint what it is,definetely sounds like a misfire just hold ur revs at like 1500rpm that's when u will hear it,or just check ur ht leads and see if u get a distinct engine...
