I would say it's affecting all gears, certainly blocks going into 2nd, 3rd and 4th but for obvious reasons I don't have much experience of over 6krpm in 4th on the road!
Hi all,
I have recently bought off of my parents a nice 07 Clio 197 low mileage, loads of history and it's had a very easy life mainly used by my mother to drive to Asda.
One thing that is irking me though is an issue where above 6k rpm it's hard to change gear, it blocks and you really have...
As titled really the right hand thumb grips is ruined on my 182 and the ones I've found online are hilarious money.
Is there still someone on here selling them for a resonable price?
Having looked at the them they are loose and have the black line down the back of them as you said so I am confident this is the leak thanks for your help!
The rear right of my boot is leaking quite a lot of water in heavy rain after doing a search on here I tried resealing the light unit but it's still doing it is there anywhere we where it can come in?
Having seen another thread just bear mine with nangang ns2r's being recommended I can't help thinking that the harder compound version might do me well. Does anyone run them just on the front with a normal summer tyre on the rear for trackdays or is there to much of a grip differance to do this...
There was no understeering or wheelspinning! And I did have tution for one session I wasn't driving like a lune which is why I was surprised they went so fast but to be honest they seem to look fine again now they have done some road miles, maybe I was overreacting wish I'd taken a picture now...
So I did my first track day Saturday and it was brilliant but also slightly frustrating as after the 3rd session I had to take things pretty careful. The reason being that my Goodyear eagle f1s that I've always rated very highly on the road started graining badly and as they aren't that old I...
Pistonheads have just done their write up. No fancy dampers etc but much improved gearbox and quite a few changes to the chassis 3 seconds a lap quicker apparently.

Can anyone confirm that the mineral oil is wrong? Also the oil is GL-4 whereas the manual states GL-5, except the manual doesn't cover the 2.0! This is a bit of a minefield.
Just went to the local motor factors to get the oil, they did it of the reg and it came up with 75w80 so I thought fine, got home and found its bloody mineral oil!. What is the actual spec from Renault I assume mineral oil is not it!
I wondered whether it was a bad idea as I have heard that some manufacturers recommend never changing it and it can actually do more harm that good doing so. As so many of you have had success in doing it I think I might as well.
As above really I see lots of different opinions, mine can be abit dodgy from the top of 2nd into 3rd although not very often I think I want to change it before doing a track day as its not exactly expensive have many people done this and had it made a difference or is it asking for trouble?
Ordered one of these http://cpc.farnell.com/clarke-international/cht141/torque-wrench-28-210nm-1-2/dp/TL15286 the girlfriend works right next to CPC's depo so is going to pick it up after work tomorrow :)
I'm going to have a look at the cost of renting a Torque wrench but otherwise I think I'll do all the work myself and drive gently to a garage and get them to torque it.
Fitting new disks, bearings etc on the rear of my 182 this weekend but I've just realised my torque wrench doesn't go as high as 175Nm. It'll do 135Nm can I get away with doing 135Nm and then "some more" or is this going to bugger the new bearings quickly because they're not preloaded properly...
