I could not find anything Cheaper. The group N renault ones are though very essential. I have had the casing of the gearbox and my LSD cracked due to too much movement. The poly dog bone is not good enough as if you look at the metal sleeves where the screws go, you will find that they are...
From my experience, if you are running on slicks and having good grip round corners, you will definetly need uprated engine mounts. I advise that you do that to save damaging the gearbox. It will also improve handling. Renault Sport can do the group N ones. If you need the part numbers, let...
This is for F4R 730 engine. I would expect the F4Rs (172 & 182) are the same
Main Bearings (On the Crank) Renew bolts, Stage 1 (20nm), stage 2 (62 degrees +/- 4 degrees)
Big end bearings (On the piston) Renew bolts, Stage 1 (20nm), stage 2 (40 degrees exactly).
I think what is Edde is saying is true. If you are going to hammer them for a long time (lap after lap without stopping) you need an upgrade more than that!
It had an engine rebuild and throttle bodies. It is running circa 230! revving upto 8000 rpm all the time with peak torque at 6600 and peak BHP at 7800!!! I am racing it this year and I am 3 seconds off the pace of the Clio Cup Racer in Rockingham. I am only coming for the fun of it and I...
A good seating position is worth a second, Imagine what a very good seating position will do!!! This is the most important and always neglected. It is the way to be one in the car and feel the chasis setup!
Yeah it would be nice. I have heard that you've developed the car into a nice beast. I also have done good development work since I have been here. It should be interesting.... Both in the wet!!!!! and dry
every one mile faster round the corner will be equivalent to a 10bhp advantage if the corner is followed by a long straight and definately much more if followed by another corner!
I tried the three of them in competition enviornment (Hot/cold, fast circuits slow cuircuts you name it) the order of their performance is
1) ITG Maxogen (especially above 80 mph to get the ram effect)
2) The standar air box (very good design cannot beat that!)
3) Viper (noticed drop in...
Yup I mapped it myself. Awesome. Lots of long empty roads..... The head is done perfectly it is now pushing 0.92 g of acceleration on slicks. Absoloutly mad hence I need my first gear longer as now it is a waste.
The final ratio has been changed to 4.9 17% reduction on original. If you notice the 172 cup on 1st 7000 will be 4000 for 2nd gear. Max torque is at 5500 so I am after an increase in the first gear by 30%!!!!!!!!!
Now that my engine is producing a lot of torque, my first gear ratio is almost useless (insane, too much power). I am looking for longer first gear. Do you guys know if that option is valid.
BTW my car is Cup 172.
Thanks
I tried loads of tyre sizes and rims on the track and my conclusion is 16' are the fastest rim and 215/40/16 is the best you can have. The reason is the following
If you go 15' they are lighter but you end up having to go for 215/45 to compromise for the size and that means faster straight...
I am very flattered that all of this has been said about me and my car!! I have been lucky to work with the best who had made my car what it is today (I am not going to talk about my driving)
And I am thankful to
Mark Fish for his motorsport wealth of knowledge, the suspension tuning and...
