Exhaust flange was made in local machine shop. I've made a copy of exhaust gasget (in Solidworks) and than it was cut on water jet. I can send you the drawing if it helps.
Difference between K4J and K4M is just extra 200ccm (K4M), almost everything else is the same (depends on type of TB - fly by wire or mechanical). My intake manifold will fit on both engines.
E7J = 1.4 8V engine
I'll have to trim a bit of slam panel but I won't need to use locking pins for bonnet (if everything goes like it was planned). Today I've received exhaust manifold flange.. ..this weekend will be busy (I have a lotof welding to do).
I have to clean my car for some nice pictures.. ..I'll do that asap.
K4M won't be standard.. ..skimed head (little higher compression), lightened flywheel, Clio 172 exhaust manifold (modified to fit on K4M engine) and custom (home made) intake manifold (that will look very similar to JMS RS2...
I'm driving 2002 Renault Clio 1.4 16V for about two years. At first it was comliptly standard, than I bought Koni coilovers, updated brake pads etc. but this year I've decided to start all over again.
I've used front Renault sport (Bilstein) struts and dampers from Clio I 1.8 16V Gr.A (I had to...
I have Clio coilovers on my 1.4 16V and they aren't worth such €€€. Springs are too soft (when I changed front springs with 70kg/cm one it was much better), shocks are adjustable (just rebound).
I think they won't be too hard for road use. Renault sport offers 3 different spring rates for tarmac - 50kg/cm (280lbs/inch), 60kg/cm (335lbs/inch) and 70kg/cm (390lbs/inch), with Bilstein shocks. Probably I'll have this kind of suspension on my car in a month or two.
I can get brand new Eibach sport system (sportline springs with Sachs dampers) or used (15k miles) Koni yellow dampers with Eibach Sportline springs for same amount of money (arround 350€).
Now I can't decide which set to buy.. ..which one would you choose??
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
Great. I'd just like to see how it's made. Standard GTT torsion bar + coilovers?
I'm building R5 for sprint races and I'd like to do this conversion to coilovers..
My discs and pads are comming to their end, so I've allready ordered Fritech racing pads (this pads are made in Italy and are used by many rally drivers in lower divisions; Gr.A to 1400ccm and Gr.N to 2000ccm), which are good (I use them on my R5 for autoslaloms). But since I have two sets of...
