Not sure whether it was a 182 / Trophy, to be honest not sure what the differences are?
Anyway, it was in Rushden on Saturday around luchtime, I was in the Blue MK 2 V6 and put my hand up.
Anyone on here?
Hi Guys,
What do you recomend for my V6 255 in the way of pads (front and rear) and how much are they likely to set me back. Also I will fit them myself, so is there anything I need to be aware of or any specialist tools required etc.
Thanks for your advice.
Steve.

I am in for a first service in Sept with my V6. I was going to take it to Wests of Clapham (Bedfordshire) they done a headlight under warranty and that was ok, however, whilst I was there I asked about servicing etc, and was told that all the local cliosport owners use them, apparently they are...
Hi Ant,
I was in a very similar position, I had taken my elise to a dealer, test drove the V6 and then got an insulting offer on mine, had he offered me a better price then I to would have signed on the dotted line. However, I came away still with the frame of mind that I was going to get one...
I agree Simon with your TVR coments, I only have the V6 as a toy, but i couldnt risk the possible expense of TVR ownership. As for power, the TVR has to be the best buy on the road. To get a 0-100 time in 9 secs. from other manufactures you would be paying near double, (with exeption of the...
Ant, before I sold the elise, I was always looking at the V6, I also started toying with other cars, but I somehow knew I needed to get the V6 to make up my own mind, and in my opinion I have made the right choice (for now). I personally would not have a TVR, simply because I could not afford...
Hi Ant,
I have actually just moved accross from a S2 Lotus elise 135R, before that I had a S1 190BHP Exige, and before that I had a S1 Elise, so I have had my fair share of Lotus cars.
All I can say is GET ONE, the V6 has much more mid range grunt, you can get in and out even after your 40th...
Why dont you KIDS get real for a change, I now own a V6 and love it to bits, why cant you children accept that the V6 is an awsome car instead of trying to put it down against its own brand. I have owned Lotus elises and exiges which are probably the best handling production cars in the world...
Cheers Stu,
I have just found a site from Channel 4 car tests that says it is fitted with a Volumetric Thatcham cat 1. I assume the "Volumetric" is the make. I will see what they say in the morning. They do annoy me though, I bought a brand new Lotus Elise the other year and had the same...
My insurance company (Adrian Flux) are pi**ing me off at the moment. They sent me a form asking me to put details of the alarm system, I answered the question with...Alarm fitted as standard + RAC Trackstar. I today have a letter saying they need the make and model!!, my handbook states...
I only have a PSI pressure gauge, and the manual tells me the front is 2.0 BAR and the rear 2.1 BAR. Could someone be kind enough to convert these figures to PSI.
Many thanks.
Steve.
I assume from the above that the standard rear lights are more expensive than the clear ones?
The reason I ask is that recently at my local Renault dealer I saw them advertising clear rear lights (Mk2) for £88 fitted, which I thought was a good price. I am toying with the idea of getting some...
Hi Jay,
Would love to have a listen to your car. Please mail me when you are next coming to Northants and maybe you could call round or meet up?

Hi Mike.......36,000 in two years!!
My exige had done 3400 when I bought it and I sold it with 7600 on the clock. I then bought a brand new elise 135R as I found the exige very lumpy with road use and my left leg was working on overtime to keep the car smooth. The elise was much more usable...
Cheers for the replies chaps.
As for the swapping from a Lotus!!....... After owning Lotus for over 3 years I fancied a change, and the V6 has always been a favourite of mine so I felt it was the right choice. With the Clio you get all the mod cons and an everyday car plus you still have the...
I have just purchased a V6 Clio Mk2 and after owning 2 Lotus Elises and a Lotus Exige, I am well impressed with the Clio. However, I do find the car to be very quiet for a V6 and would like to fit a sports exhaust. What is available for these cars and has anyone got one fitted that is around the...
