....to look at my 2001 Renault Clio 172. Engine management light on and a light on the dashboard with squiggly lines on it. He plugged in the diagnostic kit and came up with this error: "257 Throttle valve position sensor circuit" What does this mean exactly, do I need a new throttle...

Throttle Sensor...for a '51 plate 2. 172 sport, roughly how much?? whenever I stamp on my accelerator, light come on dashboard with a squiggly line on it and refuses to go above 2500rpm in any gear. diagnostics guy reckons it's the throttle sensor - sound about right???? also came up...

Problem 1: Engine management light was coming on so took it to my local garage and they said it was the c02 sensor, which i chnged, then engine management light went off, BUT it's now coming up with an error when diagnostics is on it saying something about the upstream c02 sensor, but the garage...

basically i bought a cd player for my clio 172 '51 plate and it's a standard renault item, bought it off ebay with the code. i'm typing in the 4 digit code then pressing '5' to enter the code, but it keeps coming up sying "error" all the time, so i presume the code is wrong or i'm entering it...

if i buy a cd player for the clio 172 (standard one) off ebay, do i HAVE to go to renault for the codes, or can it be done via the net if the coeds aint with the radio?? cheers Matt

just had a Ktec racing de-cat fitted, with a blue flame system...can i expect any ind of bhp gain, even 1 or 2? or will it just make the car a tad bit quicker off the mark etc? cheers Matt

Car = '51 plate clio sport 172 and i've only got one key....the dog chewed it and has kinda mashed up the key and obviously the immobiliser bit is a bit knackered, and sometimes takes me 10+ minutes to hold the key together in the right position to get the car started, so I need a new key...

finally sold my clio 172 2002 full fat as i needed to release some money for a deposit on a house. Bought a 1.3 starlet turbo and OH MY GOD, it eats my old 172 for breakfast, the thing is a complete animal. Mines only 155 bhp, but weighs only 950kg....awesomely quick. Matt

missed my 24,000 mile service and now the clock is reading almost 27,000 miles!! (clio 172) should i get it into renault NOW, or not? Since it's such a small service, would a normal garage be ok, renault main dealers are so expensive!! Matt

Juat bought my 02 clio 172 last week and getting nothing but crap of my mates..being called gay 24/7 and its funny at first but winding me up now!! Im used to owning m3s and imprexas etc, when they seen me pull up in the 172 all they could do is laugh!! 17 stone bodybuilder in a clio...

i prefer the look of the mk 2 clio 172 (non cup!) but prefer the faster pace of the mk1 clio 172....is there much differencein the 2? d rather spend less than get a mk2, but there is a mk 2 with 28k 52 plate in blue for 6500 quid im seeing tonight....or shoyuld i get a mk1?? ARRGHH...
