I am in the middle of doing it now, I dont have a handle for the torx thingy and I cant get the bloody calipers off, they are on sooooo tight!! I dont have an 18mm spanner in two sets of spanners i have and the adjustable one wont grip enough, I dont suppose you have either a torx screw or 18mm...

Well Im goig to halford so whatever they have i'm buying, how may litres do i need for a 172 Ph1 to replace the fluid, it's prob in the manual isnt it!

Is it wirth changing the brake fluid whin doing front discs with goodridge lines? Or is it fine to use existing and top up with dot 4 if needed?

Daz - Ill have a crack with the rears first thing in the morning and see how I get on, bit worried about the lines. Can i do all this work with the standard jack, i.e. one wheel at a time??

Can you replace the hoses and disc brakes etc with only the supplied jack, I.e. one corner at a time?

Ill bring a camera and we can do a how to with photos on the brake lines if you want.

Got them in a nice big red box, Brembo High Carbon + mintex + goodridge hoses... I am a fairly capable chap, but never really done any work on cars at all before. Im gonna change my rear discs this weekend with greenstuff pads (need some copper grease - where from?) Would someone...

Can I fit this myself, is it easy, i.e. just the 4 bolts I can see? Doing rear discs this weekend with greenstuff pads, then off to garage for carbon fronts with hoses + mintex.

Not a bad price, the cheapest I have found elsewhere, with bearings and ABS rings pressed in is £155 for the full unit and thats without pads.

I ve been told that because they are used very little that is one of the reasons they go early, lack of use can be worse than over use me thinks, for corrosion issues that is...

Renault seem to have maybe successfully diagnosed my knocking noise!! As per the photos you can see where the upper engine mount has worn away, and you can lift it up from the top like a big flap of rubber... Broken me thinks!! Also as you can see from the photos there are some screws...

turns out its not the drive shaft, doh! But the engine is in wonkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the upper drivers side mount needs replacing, that'll give you a knock :-0
