im 17 with an 02 clio 1.2 16v
insurance would have been 1580 with directline
but i had 1 yrs no claims from a motorbike at 16 which they accepted.
worked out at 1180 fully comp

I think they are not too bad, certainly growing on me,
they look a little too much like the 207 though not very unique.
Considering its car of the year it must be quite nice to drive though.
Seems to have a better build quality than the older ones, time will tell though
Edit: only Take note of the below if it turns over normally but wont start as if its not getting fuel:
if the immobiliser light doesnt show a fault best to get the top dead centre sensor replaced, about £20 it think, completley fixed all my starting problems, its a common fault on the clio's...
many ppl have mentioned what a huge step it is to go from the 1.2 to a 172, youd probably be better getting a 1.6 for a few years then moving on to a renaultsport at a later date
