Guessing that was from District Garage? Got my Cup from there, anyone thinking of buying the 172 from there, check the whole thing over thoroughly as mine has needed front and rear brakes, 4 tyres and a custom exhaust and I thought I checked everything out (though it was dark!)
Right as that got your attention.....
I bought the Cup a few months ago and the person who had it previous to me must have been deaf! The exhaust is painfully loud and so before I lose the use of my ears I need to change it sharpish!
Any clues on what backbox would be a good choice? Gotta fill...
Didn't realise there was that many either to be honest. Had some quite rare cars in the past (106Rallye, S1 RS Turbo...) and expected the Cup to be a little less common. And since I've moved to Chester it seems that about 90% of the Cups still with us are around here!!
Suddenly a V6 is looking...
By all means someone please point me towards an old thread as i'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but I was just curious to know how 'exclusive' the 172 Cup really is??
Also, on a similar topic, surely there's no such thing as a 182Cup as only the 172 was made with a special edition...
I play golf there and if my missis booked that for me, well for a start it'd be a miracle and for second i'd have to pay, but i'd be well chuffed. So in answer to your question Kelly yes it's bl**dy nice!!
Will give it a try and on second thoughts I've just remembered how my Gf drives (not disrespecting women drivers in any way!) she could barely handle her old smart car so the cup may spell disaster.
Thanks for the advice, hopefully save me some $$$$ or else it'll be time to sell another kidney...
Just did a quote online with Tesco. I had an SP30 speeding fine in 2004, put my mum (50yrs old) and the missis (22yrs old) etc. etc. Still came out at £1456! What am doing wrong!?!
Guess I need to be a girl to get cheaper insurance....Sheila's Wheels and all that!!!
I was down there at the same time in my cup on the way to pick the missis up from the bus station. Had to cane it past the G&D and jam on the not so reliable brakes to avoid smashing into everyone at the traffic lights at the roundabout!!Wish I'd seen em though, haven't had a chance to really...
Might have been me as I live by the racecourse and work down the sealand rd.
If it was, apologies for not responding, probably in a world of my own.......
I heard there was a good golf course up at carden park so might be venturing up your neck of the woods one saturday or sunday.
Gonna have to get myself to the next N/West meet so someone can tell me all about the Cup as I'm still learning all about the little devil!!
Looks like a good time was had by all which makes it all the more gutting considering I've only had the Cup for a month or so and I've only lived in Chester for about 3 months!!!
I should'a went.....I should'a went.....I should'a went.....I should'a went.....I should'a went.....I should'a...
Well I make sure to give all fellow RS drivers in the Chester area a friendly nod so perhaps you'll be one of the lucky ones! lol
You'll know if it's me as I'll be the one with the loud exhaust (not my choice!!) and driving like a complete tit (not had it long...still in the honeymoon stage!)...
Well if the woman was quite small with blondey/browny hair then it could have been me and the missus (can never remember where I've been!), although I was walking by Brannigans the other week and another cup went flying by me so there might be a few around
Only had the Cup about a month or so and it had an MOT before I picked it up. Took it to Reno yesterday and they reckon I need new discs and pads on the front!!! Have I got any come back with the garage I bought it from??
Had an Escort RS Turbo Series 1 before and put on some drilled and grooved EBC discs and personally I thought they were absolute sh*te, so standard jobbies sounds like a plan.
Much appreciated
I'm just about to pick my Cup up from Reno with exactly the same problem but on the off side!!
Difference is that they've told me that there's nothing wrong with the suspension and that somehow the clonking whining noise is down to me needing new discs and pads!!!!????!!!
All together...
I know this has probably been asked a million times, and by all means point me to an old thread, but after only just having the cup mot'd Reno reckon
I need new discs and pads at a cost from them of £177.
I'm pretty sure for that amount I could get some upgraded discs and pads and fit 'em...
Only recently got the 172Cup and the chap that had it before me has fitted a rather large backbox on it. Now it looks fantastic with the twin pipes but it's painfully loud in the car and for long journeys on the motorway I've had to resort to using ear plugs (not an exaggeration!!)
Now I would...
