I have had problems with this warning light flashing on my Megane with the symptons you describe. The problem was a failure with the Pencil Coil that plugs in to the top of each cylinder. I had two failures with these and each time I called out the AA and they replaced them. They cost about £40...
I decided that I wasn't going to put up with Renault's vrap service and high prices so I found a very good local garage using this website http://www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk/
The garage I found did a great 1st service for £145 which included a new filter and rear wiper. My local Renault garage...
I agree, save your money and then spend it on 182 once you've graduated. That would make a nice graduation present to yourself wouldnt it! While your at Uni you can build up your NCB too.
Kullycliosport,Alex, I was being sarcy..... of course I was refering to people who had done a ram raid on Halfords as you put it.
In my opinion though most of the modified cars that I see on the road look like they have ram raided Halfords! I used to work with a guy from New Zealand who could...
Like people have said on here already sublte mods that can be taken off when you come to sell the car are best.
Getting stared at as you drive by probably means that you've modified your car too much and you look like a t**t.
Conteo, just think of all the NCB you'll have once you leave Uni. It took me 5 years to save for my first Caterham 7 but it was worth it when I went to pick it up :D
Andyman, power alone isnt going to help you on the quarter mile either. What about changing the gearing, deciding on the right tyre or reducing the weight? Then at the end of the day again it will be down to the driver.
Just talking about power figures alone as I said before is utter crap.
Danerous Dave, I totally agree with you. I don't know what the obsession is with more power on this forum. Whats the point in spending £2k on getting more power if your, brakes, suspension etc cant handle it. More importantly whats the point if the driver cant handle it.
Save your money and...
Sorry if this sounds harsh but why would you want to waste your time and money modifying a 1994 1.2 Clio? I just don't understand the mentality behind people on this forum who ask such questions.
What are you going to do, put a big bad boy exhaust on it, giving it an extra 2 Bhp? Put some big...
I decided not to go to a Renault dealer for my first service as I didnt want to pay £225 for them to change the oil and the air filter. I found a local garage through the Good Garage Scheme who did a 1st class (Bosch) service for £145. The checklist of stuff they looked at was 3 pages long, I...
Lol! Your car certainly did pull away easily. What mods does your car have? I will be doing that route again tonight at the same time. I work in Blackpool and I'm on lates this week so finish at 9pm. I always come off at the tickled trout to break up the journey a bit.
Shame I still don't have...
That would be me then, Ive just seen this post after I posted my thread! "Pulled away very easily" Bloody cheek!:) I take it your car is modifed? Mine is a standard 182. It was a fun little blast, caught you napping at the lights near the tickled trout didnt I.
Had a good hearted burn up with the above car yesterday through Blackburn up to the big roundabout near Jct 6 of the M65. It was modified and was able to easily pull away from me in 2nd and 3rd. Is it anyone on this forum?
If I had £23k to spend I would use £3k on a cheap tin top then spend the remaining £20k on a Caterham R400. In my eyes the ultimate drivers car, also 0-60mph in 3.8 secs, 0-100mph in about 9 secs and 140mph.
Whenwe had the TT they were all 1.8, either 180bhp (single tailpipe) or 225bhp (double tailpipe). Probably the nicest car I've ever driven, clutch wasn't heavy and the gearchange was sublime.
I hated it when my wife gave up her job and had to hand back her Audi TT Coupe 225 company car. It was such a lovely a car in a colour similar to the Arctic Blue 182s. I remember the lorry that delivered it to our house. It was like a removal van but emblazened with the Audi Logo. The delivery...
I couldn't find this form anywhere so I phoned Motorpoint. I was told by a sales manager that as it was an import they didn't come with this declaration. I started to panic a bit so I phoned Renault Customer Service. I gabe them the Clio's chassis number and they were able to confirm that the...
Anybody heard of this? My insurance company is asking for a copy of it but looking through the paperwork I received with the car (new 182 from Motorpoint) I can't seem to find it.
Did anyone else receive this with their car?
Thanks for everyones help. Not sure I can afford £399 at the moment but I guess this forum is the best place to look for a 2nd hand seat once I do have some money.
Once again thanks for your help.
1. Its our car and not 'my' car. We are both paying for it and it was bought for her to use anyway for her to get to work.
2. I'd rather she didn't smoke in it but she's an adult and I can't really stop her if she so wishes. Its normally me that damages our cars anyway LOL!
Oh well I guess...
Our Clio 182 is one month old today and my wife has just phoned to say that she has put a cigarette burn in the drivers seat by accident  . God knows how she did it as its on the front of the seat where her back would rest.
Is it possible for the seat to be repaired (re-upholstered?) or...
We bought our 182 with the sole intention of my wife using it to get to her new job. My wife likes cars nearly as much as I do so her driving it is certainly not a problem, she is a good driver anyway.
Thank you for your welcome, the car is Arctic Blue. I have some pictures but I'm not sure how to post them on this forum. The car is standard, as is the way with these car supermarkets. Can anyone tell me how long it will be before the car's engine starts to loosen up? When we picked it up last...
