I was going to buy a K&N gen II just because it was bout £50 cheaper than a viper... but then i found a place that sells vipers for £180 so i went for one of them. Personally i think the Viper looks better :)

Hi Folks, I am looking for a set of rear lights for my clio 172... i would like to get some black lights, not like the k-tec ones... but ones with kind of "smoked" glass, not just the surround inside the light unit. does anyone know if you can buy these? i havent been able to find anything...

i had that light on for about a week... renault said it was an emmissions problem due to something to do with my mid section... they wanted about £220 to fix it.... so i told them to bugger off n went and bought myself a nice cat back stainless steel system ;)

How easy are the viper's to maintain etc? I used to have a K&N 57i on my old car and within about 4 months it looked s**t as the filter was totally covered in a layer of sticky, muddy, guff I tried to clean it as per instructions i found on the web but it didn't really work... B

I definately agree that the standard one is rubbish... need to do something... if not a short shift what else is available? also - is there any truth to the rumour that the short shift lever can damage your gear box? Cheers, B

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone has tried the K-Tec short throw gear lever? Personally i am not that impressed with the feel you get from the standard 172 gear lever... does'nt feel very... firm... if thats the right word :S has anyone tried this? and did it make a noticeable difference...

Just a quick question... is touch up paint worth using? i.e. once on does it match the rest of the car well? are you meant to do anything after you put it on? i also have a few stone chips i would quite like to touch up!! Cheers.

Indeed, which looks good. but if i got my wheels chromed by machining them i doubt spraying the caps would be as shiny as they wheels. Looks like its gonng be powdercoating or spraying... B

as in get the wheels sprayed..? if you get them sprayed chrome will it last..? people i have spoken to before have said the paint may flake off?

ah but the place im going to get my wheels done don't paint or dip them. they polish the metal with a drill bit... so they wouldn't be able to do that with the centre caps...

Can i just ask... what is the benfit of using say 205s instead of 195s?? better handling? B

Its black... i have always had a thing for black and chrome. last time bought 17" chrome BSA multi spokes for my fiesta (dont laugh!) and the chrome paint was flaking off within two months. i've actually managed to find somewhere local that does metal polishing where they take a drill bit to...

well yeah the general plan is to chrome up the wheels and slam it... so yesh. lol. i love chrome! i have had a couple of bad experiences in the past when buying new larger wheels and this has led me to the decision to keep the standard wheels this time and just chrome them... i think the 16"...
