rite as many of you may no sept last year i took the car to pod and ended up shattering the flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and gearbox half way up the strip, moneys been tight but im not willing to skimp on products so thats why its taken so long to get bak 2gether, got it all back and ready...
after inspection when the box and pressure plate were removed it seems it wasnt the clutch, the bolts holdin the pressure plate against the flywheel have ripped out smashin the pressure plate against the box, theres a nasty score mark and i mean nasty, all the way round the inside of the gearbox...
gearbox im not 2 worried about tbh, i have several sat around and can pick them up for less than £100 anyway but dont want clutch slip at all and it aint an everyday car so ankle snappin clutch aint is the least of my probs :D
on the look out now for a steel flywheel and a new clutch, so if any1 has any recomendations please post them up.
clutch must be good for at least 400 lb of torque tho
heres a link to my photobucket, showin what smashed at the pod sunday :(

std pistons just dished to 9.5:1cr at the mo, will be goin the forge route soon but still gona stick to the same cr as its still got sum get up and go with no boost tbh ;)
some how the flywheel shattered thus causing the bolts that clamp the pressure plate to the flywheel got smashed around in the casing smashing the gearbox causing it to shed its oil everywhere, was a huge bang, thought a conrod had gone thro the block at 1st :(
im runnin a 172 turbo engine in my r5 gtt, was at pod weekend and ran 1.8 - 60ft , 12.537 @ 107 mph, serious headwind down the strip (blew our tent over sat) tho so defo can be improved on, cars running 255bhp, 242 lb torque @ 7 psi
not being funny mate but with a comment like that you aint got a clue what ur talking bout, the only time cars like the 5 gtt are unreliable is when u get prats jump in them and wind the boost up with no proper setup or correct mods, if the r5 has been maintained and setup propally theres no...
any suggestions to a diffrent gearbox that could be used if an adaptor plate was made, obviously driveshafts would hav to be modfied/custom to do this but i dont see any reno box copin with huge power like i wana run
cheers
has anyone got this in there clio? or any other lsd gearbox in there clio? if so how do you find it? have you had any problems with it? thinking of shellin out for 1 but wantd to ask peoples views of it before i do.
cheers ;)

not sayin he wont hit the 11's as im sure he will, just a bit of friendly banter between me and matt lol.
i just no sum of us wont be stoppin at the 11's tho :rasp:
any idea why the slow time ? thought he was runnin alot more power since his 12.6 run ? not sayin 12.9 is slow just was expectin alot better time tbh, not havin a dig either just askin ;)
just heard along the grape vine that matt was at the pod sun with his tt powered clio, any1 know if this is true? if so what time did he manage or didnt it make it down the strip again
