Can anyone who has removed their standard gear knob without damaging it please explain how, I've read all the old posts (hairdryer's etc.) but would like some more detailed advice if that's possible.
Part of the 'leather' has rubbed off on the right side and it now feels 'gluey' to the touch...
Probably me, I always park there.
I think I've seen you a couple of times, do you remember a tall guy waiting to cross the road eyeing up your car as you were driving through the traffic lights near The Royal Pavilion? NO? Well, pay attention!
Where do you live? I live by the Open House pub on...
I was behind you in my Trophy between Steyning and the A27 where I overtook, was on the way back from Goodwood Breakfast Club about 11:40, nice weather wasn't it? Yuck.
I've read the article now, page 80. Good write-up, he nodded in favour of the RS but then he owns one! Same usual Autocar b****cks about leaving Porsches for dead (Even an old Porsche boxster would keep ahead of either Trophy or RS driven properly) but a nice sentiment. The pictures were good...
Nope, I was on the train to London Bridge about then, it was probably Chiefbadger, if it was me, you would have only seen me for a second as I nail it up Mill Road to avoid the stupid double-backing.
I couldn't give a toss about the interior (that's why I own a Clio) I mean, apart from the seats, it's pretty rubbish. I'm glad it doesn't have bright blue bits on the steering wheel and seats and Max Power dials though! It's the rampant torque steer and lack of steering feel that put me off...
Re: clio trophy and focus rs in autocar
You seem to really like the RS, what is the reason you haven't bought one and own a 182 instead? Is it that much cheaper to run? If I thought the RS was a better car I would be driving one and not wasting time posting on a Renault forum about how...
This is most interesting, always thought the 5.9 secs to 60 was a bit quick for 169 bhp/ton, same power/weight as the Trophy/Cup and that does it in 6.3-6.6 secs. It does have a lot of torque (227 ft lbf) and a pretty meaty mid-range so I wouldn't fancy my chances against one 'in the gears'...
FF X is a close second to VII, stunning visuals when it came out and using the monster arena to max the characters stats out was fun, as was using Yojimbo to cut Penance in half on the first move was quite amusing. Those were the days, managed to get a degree at the same time.
They are better than yours through the 'twists and rounderbouts'. The Trophy set-up isn't just about making it faster into and through corners (although it is) it's about making it feel better to drive (which it does).
Hello Guys! looks like we're going to have to put all our posts here instead. I went to use it last night and it went spastic on me. Has nayone PM'd Nik?

Re: rr results for 1*2s (updated)
You can add mine to the list if you like. I had it tested (along with many others) a Surrey Rolling Road today.
182 Trophy, 14,000 miles. ITG Panel filter and Group N ECU re-map.
Max Power - 174.6bhp @ 6550RPM
Max Torque - 151.0 lb/ft @ 5350RPM
This is...
You were gunning it between the roundabouts just east of Poynings, I slingshotted around the roundabout to give chase but you had overtaken three cars and were outta there. I had my windows down (don't you just love climate change!) and it sounded awesome.
You definitely saw me, I was in the...
Finally!!! I've been spotted. What a shame it was doing the daftest thing I've ever done in my life (in or out of the car). As I said on ClioTrophy, it must have had a cloaking device, because I checked the rear view mirror, went to change lanes (everyone in Brighton drives in the right hand...
Personally, I wouldn't touch it, Strike smashed it and he's saying stay away, I understand the fact that a car can be repaired to a higher standard than it left the factory, but if it's had an impact, a lot of energy has been absorbed by the chassis and bodyshell, it will have flaws and...
Age is irrelevant, just because the 182 is driven by boy racers doesn't make it a boy racer car. Buy a Megane 230 because it is a bloody good car for the money and you need a bit more space than a 182 can provide. There are plenty of 182 Trophy owners a lot older than you.
Good thread guys, and I don't know who you are or what your business is like so I'm not going to pass judgement on you terrorist, apart from to say that I'd rather pay £200 for experts to treat my car than give it you to clean for nothing. I've always cleaned and polished my own cars, the Trophy...
Mike, I'm booked in for tomorrow morning but just realised I don't know the address! Can't find it on the net anywhere, you don't have a website? Might be able to sort one out for you on the cheap. If Mike's not on, does anyone else on here know Rentech's address?
Cheers.
Hi Perch, good for you, persuading the old lady to get the Trophy, the official combined cycle mpg figure for the Trophy is about 36 mpg, so this is what you should tell your mum, but I rarely see over 30mpg these days, in fact the last tank that didn't see any motorway miles averaged 26 on the...
Buy a 172 Cup, if you don't care about the newness, Recaros and exclusivity blah blah and don't need TC, ESP, ABS or AC blah blah, it's the sensible choice. The 172 Cup is the true original Cup and has a great power/weight, a real old school hot hatch. Now forget all that and buy the Trophy.
This is a very interesting thread. But at the end of the day has no resolution because it comes down to semantics. The accepted definition of a sports car is known to most people but modern hot hatches and sports saloons have started to blend definitions. There are hatchbacks and saloon cars...
The transit was great, I was on the start line when it took off, took everyone by surprise, it was pretty useful in the corners too!
The Espace F1 was an awesome machine, a V10 people carrier and it's still lighter than the 255 V6!
