Another hot day, another steering wheel destroyed

I thought the bubbling etc was crap off the last owners hands thats got stuck to the wheel, untill on closer inspection it seemed the leather was actually bubling off the rim and going sticky. I managed to clean most of it off (removing some of the top layer of leather) afterwards it was like...

I hated leaving my baby behind.

Huh?? my missus half shares MY clio rsi. She does about 1k miles in it a month and in the last month she's scraped the mirror, driven up the arse of lorries peppering the front with chips and pushed the door up a kerb scraping the corner while getting it stuck for a moment. When I tell her to...

    cam belt questions

I took the car in today for a 72k service (non renault) and it was changed, just wanted to check it out. It seemed like a lot of money to spend when you cant see the work that has been done!

    cam belt questions

Hello, Where is the cam belt located on a 2001 16v 1.6 mk2 ph1? Is it visable for inspection without removing anything? I can see a belt attached to the alternator on the lh side of the bay and next to it (what I think is the water pump) has another larger belt attached, is this the...

Things you love about your Clio

The way all clio's look great, even when left as standard. I had just polished it and was filling up my RSi Mk2ph1 with fuel, when I went to pay I looked over at it in the car park and though, yeah, thats a wicked looking car.:D The way it picks up. It's grip. The leather. Black...

Big yellow bus hit my 172 today

I cant believe the twut drove off, well done for catching him up, I bet you were livid. The accident wasnt kinsella's fault so the insurance wont need to put it down on record, I just had my car written off (same as, not my fault) and they said nothing is affected, my sister also said the...

Gutted... A rasta smashed up my clio

The other month an idiot ran into me. I was turning left into a carpark on a perfectly straight road and he hit me from behind, so admitted liability at the time and then got all s@@tty with me after I called my insurance and tried to blame it on me! I won the case in the end, my car was a...

    Accelerating Lumpy

    Brake disks

Cheers for the replies fellas, I'll prob go with the Halfords option as I dont punish the brakes as much as I used to these days (I must be getting old), seeing as the pads are also pretty cheap at £17 I'll just relace them at the same time if that's a proper job. Is it worth keeping the old...

    Brake disks

I have got a squeek comming from the front brake under light braking, I took a look at the disks and they want replacing as they are worn. The pads look ok. Is it worth buying replacement Renault disks or is it worth spending a bit more, I've seen some Brembo 'Max' upgrade disks for £63.45...

New Wheels - Stupid Question Time!!!

There is a Halfords in Bath and they do some wheel + tyre deals, the choice is probably not great but they may be able to order what you want. It's a shame there isnt a Demon Tweeks in the area, I visit the DT store (in N wales) when I'm seeing my mates up there. Their choice of wheels is...

    Modification help please

I know loads of people who do this and I advise you DONT. If you run into another car or worse another person your insurance company will run a mile leaving you to sort out the mess in court, this could potentially leave you picking up a tab for tens of £1000's.
