ooh...some more rotrex people...
can we share data when people have got a few miles on their motors?
what size pulleys on the blower and the drive are people using on their shiny new modern clio's?
has anyone installed their blowers after their throttle butterflies?
good find.
my 2p worth...
i do like things like this - at least someone in the world is looking forwards...
i often wondered about 'electric' forced induction... but i don't really see how it could be applied to retro-fit to our renaults with 12v systems.
we'd either need a boot full of...
@f0xy - don't jinx it. lol. the gasket went about a fortnight before I reckon. it sucked a gallon of water in on the way to work one day :(
I have every confidence in it ;) for this year.
**AGAIN - CAN WE PLEASE KEEP THE TOPICS ABOUT THE CAR - THE GIRL VIDEO'ING IS P*SSED AT YOU ALL - YOU TRY WORKING ON A GERIATRIC CLIO AND KEEPING CLEAN**
Moderators - if this thread keeps going off topic, just lock it for me. Many thanks.
@f0xy - ha, small world... yeah you did... and they were top notch.
Last year it was running the same engine, but running off the throttle-pot on 3 and a bit cylinders due to head gasket failure. The people who got my oil all over their bonnets are no doubt still p*ssed at me.
I was also...
Can we please keep the comments about the car as opposed to people's appearance - this sort of thing puts people off becoming a paid up member.
@Clio-Ell - There's a photo on http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/trackdays/imagegallery/oulton2008/Default.aspx at the bottom right of the gallery
@chrisjk - um, that isn't my hand. i am the one nervously pouring the traction fluid in! lol
@shepperdspie - i'll tell you when i've rolled it. assuming I've done the sums right - it was running 112 brake at the wheels N/A - and I'm spinning the blower up to about 70,000rpm (1/2 speed) so...
@f0xy - sure, but I take no responsibility for fires, death, french engineering etc. ha ha ha.
this is assuming I haven't broken anything in the meantime
Hi all... Been a long while since I posted on the forum... but I hope these two youtube links will explain where I've been.

More videos and performance/reliability information will be available...
You could try a "green" cotton panel. They used to make a really nice noise on cars I've had with them. I know there is a Clio II 1.4 16v one if that's your motor. I bet you can get them for about £20 nowadays. K-Tec, Demon Tweeks, people like that stock them.
And welcome to the joys of...
Which 1.4 are we talking about?
I used to have an 8v 'energy' E7J engine and this was my findings from the same situation. I was a lowly student and wanted things faster, without spending oodles of cash.
I started with the standard box.
Then I bought a k&n replacement kit. It made a hell of...
My 'box is leaking from both driveshaft sides, and a bit from the selector shaft.
I've got the part number for the N/S driveshaft kit, gaiter and other bits, but what about the other side - I can't find the diff seal on dialogy. I found 1 page, but there are 2 assemblies...lol
I don't...
Quick FYI...
If you have entered the wrong code, the stereo makes you wait till you can try again, eventually locking you out.
To allow code entry:
Press and hold down both 'FM' and '1' together
Turn the unit on, still holding the other buttons
Release the buttons
The display will now...
That very same engine's in my motor now...
To confirm, 8v k7m... Now high compression setup and dta electronics (specs below if you care)...
It's currently in a rapidly rusting up 5-door, but is soon to be transplanted into a 1992 valver chassis... there is also talk of a centrifugal...
I am 3/4 the way through my hillpower megane conversion...
1.6 k7m engine
headwork
high compression setup
supersprint manifold
wideband lambda
dastec ecu
loom
hoses
so far 110bhp at the wheels at 5950rpm... the torque is astonishing for such a little motor as well...
call Nick on 01530...
I am in the process of swapping the above calipers, discs and pads but need information about the caliper mounting bolts...
My bendix (solid disc) calipers slide on the mounting bolts, and the lucas (vented disc) caliper carriers mount directly to the hub...
So my bolts won't do the job. Can...
@JJsRT, manifold made up by a 'one man band' steel machinist. It wasn't from an 'exhaust company' as I ran into the same issue. People were asking over £400.00...
Hi,
I think I've got a different throttle-body assembly than you... Mine doesn't have any pipes or connections apart from:
Fuel in, fuel out, throttle-pot plug, idle motor plug, injector plug.
The inlet manifold on the other hand, has about a million vaccuum hoses and coolant lines...
OK... Problem solved... For the time being...
Whether this'll work for anyone else - I don't know...
Further to all my previous messing about...
This morning, I've taken my throttle-body off (again)... To find that now, the gasket between the inlet-manifold and the lower half of the T/B...
Hi Dan, aren't RT's fun? Have you put another 'energy' engine in, or have you transplanted another type?
On a serious note - at what engine temperatures does your erratic idling occur? Mine tends to be fine when the engine's cold, but gradually increases the hotter it gets.
I have so far...
On my mk1 1.4 RT, I installed the bottom half of a laguna 1.8 spi throttle body and am now encountering the same problem as you...
I had a spare speedo cable, known to be fine - installed that, and double checked all the connections - It made no difference (mine is of course a 'mechanical...
Okay this is what happened -
1st attempt:
Installed complete assembly - top and bottom half and the idle motor My throttle-pot multi-plug didn't fit... The one on the throttle body had less pins (4) versus the 7 or 8 on the car... So I left it off for the time being. Fired the car up and it...
