Hi knowledge,
Just in case you're still looking for feedback on the sprintbooster, I installed one on my 2002 Clio 172. It took 2 minutes, and the result is imediately noticeable - and might i add - gr8 fun!
It is as if the car is more torquey, zesty, fiery - whatever u wanna call it...
Hi Peeps,
I'm still at a loss with the best setup for my Schrick cams timing and Vernier pulleys degreeing (advance/r****d):( .
Any recommended setup/timing specs to get the most out the installation?
Cheers,
er, I sorta leave the tech bit to the garage:o . What is the ideal profile I should have? Can u plz post a sample of how it should read & I'll get some numbers from my mechanic?
About the Verniers though, would I not have any benefit at all from having them? The 1st difference I noticed was...
Thanks m8.
Anyone else with Schricks installed? I've also had Vernier Pulleys from Cat fitted, with quite an effort really as the exhaust cam pulley had to be slightly modified to fit properly.
Some feedback from similar installations would greatly help me assess the results of my setup, as...
Is a jittery engine (at idle) common with Schrick cams. I heard it may be so with other cams, but not so with Schrick, Cat, or Kent cams due to their profile design.
How true, common/uncommon, regular/irregular is that, and how to solve the problem?
Cheers
If I had the choice I would go for Velox, Buddy, Kei, OZ, or Enkei. All offer lightweight rigidity in 17's. But if none of the aforementioned, then definitely the Wolfrace.
I have 17" Enkei RPF1's, which claim a 6.8kg per wheel. Now in my opinion, that's very lightweight for 17"s.

I got it for SAR 800, which is:
800.00 SAR
=
108.639 GBP
The difference is very evident, so much that you have to adapt your right foot to the gained responsiveness & b careful and featherlight on the pedal, especially when reversing from a parking space, lol.
Hi all,
I haven't read much about this on any of the posts here, but has any1 tried the Sprintbooster?
After reading many positive reviews about it (mainly on Beemer forums), I decided to see if they had it for the Clio 172, found out they did, ordered it, got it, installed it in 2 minutes...
Well how come the user manual of my 2002 FF Clio 172 says 1035 kg?
Is it 1035, 1100, 1110, 1070, wxyz....??
Which is it? no one will ever know for sure, not even reno peeps...
It's a perpetual mystery! :S
A very merry Christmas to all!
2002 Clio 172. Went from original airbox to Pipercross Viper, from that to a Simota Twincharger, and now from that, thinking of going back to original airbox but with ITG panel filter, of course sucking in air from the foglamp opening from the CAF of the...
Hiya peeps,
I was just wondering whether the best time to shift up during the 1/4 mile is as soon as the shiftlight comes on, barely before, or slightly after? Any tips there?
Cheers,
My knowledge is that in standard guise, the general specs for the MK2 Ph2 Clio 172's weight is around 1035kg. If this is so indeed, does anyone know the weight of the stock wheels & tyres more or less? I'm trying to figure out the exact weight of my car with Enkei lightweight wheels...
I'm going on my 1st ever 1/4 mile drag strip trynext Monday; just bought a new helmet yesterday. Will keep you posted on Tuesday on my time. cheers for a great informative post though, was just wondering about Clio 1/4 mile times a few days back.:star:
Just like the next here I worship Clios, but I'm trying my best to like the new 197 but, even with an extreme rendition like this I can't but help seeing it as too 206ish. Other than the claimed performance improvements, I still like the previous look much better!:dapprove:
I've heard and read a lot of comments on the Turbonator, Tornado, Cyclone type bolt-on turbos, more negative than positive though.
I'm still at a loss though, can't afford a proper turbo such as the one offered by K-tec, but was wondering whether anyone has tried an electric...
Thanks, I reckonned the gains would be very minimal, but the main dilemna is that I had at least expected 150 ATW, same as other 172/cups with similar mods. 124 is just way too low & disappointing, to the extent I'm thinking of reverting to the original stock setup.
:dapprove: Hi guys, I recently had my 2002 172 on the rollers (Dynojet) and was extremely let down at the result: best out of the 3 tries was 124.6 ATW, and that's with a Borla backbox, a Pipercross Viper, and Nology leads and plugs. The tech running the rollers said it could be the backbox...
Thanks m8. Very informative. I still have to dyno my clio in any case after the couple of mods I've done, in order to fine-tune it more & decide on the ultimate intake type & placement.
Cheers again,
