Jitters post-Schrick?

  2002 Clio Sport 172
Is a jittery engine (at idle) common with Schrick cams. I heard it may be so with other cams, but not so with Schrick, Cat, or Kent cams due to their profile design.

How true, common/uncommon, regular/irregular is that, and how to solve the problem?

Cheers

Well considering how lumpy the std cams are then yeah id say thats regular.

Thanks m8.

Anyone else with Schricks installed? I've also had Vernier Pulleys from Cat fitted, with quite an effort really as the exhaust cam pulley had to be slightly modified to fit properly.

Some feedback from similar installations would greatly help me assess the results of my setup, as I'm not quite confident with the efficiency of my garage over here.

Cheers again

i wouldn't of bother with the verniers, i would've stuck to the std pullies

what profile do you have? sounds like cam timing could be a tiny bit out

er, I sorta leave the tech bit to the garage:eek: . What is the ideal profile I should have? Can u plz post a sample of how it should read & I'll get some numbers from my mechanic?

About the Verniers though, would I not have any benefit at all from having them? The 1st difference I noticed was how much lighter they were compared to the standard ones. but I also wondered wether doing without the original variable-time one would not set me back somehow?
