Hi all as I've not been in the Gateshead-Newcastle area
for long does anyone no of a paint shop that'll blow my
bonnet in and blend into the wings on a PH1 172. No
damage just stone chips that are getting on my tits
especially after I've now clayed the whole car the
bonnet just looks gash...
Having just moved up from 15's to 16's on my
ph1 172 and I found the ride changed in a big
way a lot harsher and more uncomfortable. I'd
say going to 17's would make the ride feel like
a bag of spanners unless you only drive on the
smoothest of tarmac all the time. In other words
you...
Had the same problem as you a few weeks ago the best
I could find was a local indy who supplied fitted and balanced
me 4 205-45-16v PE2's for £400 all in. Better than anyone
else I could find by around £50+ have a phone around and
don't worry about haggling money talks..
Colin..
One problem with that price your right that if ya buy 4 PE2'S
you pay £99 each which you have to pay for online. Except
when you try and buy them it doesn't include fitting and balancing
which brings the total to around £440ish. I know I tried to buy them
a few weeks ago..
Hi mate I had the same problem a while back I
changed the pump and all was sorted. With regard
getting the wiper arms of you've got two options
you can buy a wiper arm puller. Or do what I did
which is take the nut of the base of the wiper arm
and where the arm pivots push down hard a few...
Hi all after changing my sump gasket which has
cured the main oil leak and cleaning the underside
of my engine and box I seem to have a slight leak
from the bottom of my box where the gear selector
joins. Anyone have any ideas or advice is it just an
oil seal? or more to the point is it...
Ya could try changing the clutch cable that can make a
difference. But as everyone else has said they are quite
heavy but you do get used to it. I find my 32 ton 8 wheel
tipper with a 16 speed box easier to drive in traffic though.;)
I've just done the same thing gone from 15" to 16"
and I have to say the ride is nowhere near as good
on the road anyway. If I hadn't just bought 4 new
205 45 16 pe2's I think I'd be going back ta 15".
Colin..
Cheers for the reply's. I take your point about the
16" V 15" although it's a bit late as I've aready got
the 16" rims. Thanks for the advice on the 205's
Ads_172 cheers Colin..
Hi all I'm after a little bit of advice on tyres I'm moving
from 15" to 16" now my prob is the tyres aren't that great
which means new tyres on top of the cost of the wheels. I
had a quick check and there seems to be a fair bit of a price
difference between 195 or 205s well in PE2's anyway...
Just my two bob but have you checked the Alternator
for a collapsed bearing? Sounds silly I know but mine
sounded like a bag of spanners and it was the Alternator
got to be worth sticking a screwdriver on it to see..
Well for what it's worth I used Mobil 1 0-40w and have
recently changed to using silkolene 5-40w to be honest
I was happy with both although everyone on hear goes
for the 5-40w silkolene. I hope that helps?
Hi all I'm after a bit of advice on a set of speedline
2118 15" in white on a silver ph1 172 so what do ya
think "YES OR NO" any comments good or bad please.
Cheers Colin...
Hi all I've a bit of a problem with my dash lights
the illumination of them that is. When I turn my
lights on the lights that illuminate my speedo flicker
on and of in the end the settle down. I remember some
time ago there was a guide talking about dry joints but
I cant find it if anyone...
The clutch on my 32 ton Foden 450cat tipper with a 16 speed box
is way lighter than my ph1 172, Life I guess although changing the
cable makes a bit of difference.
Had the same problem with my ph1 172 couldn't fit the
CAF's to the filter as the battery was to long. I checked
the max length I could use which was 8" long. All I did
was take a tape with me to halfords and checked all
there battery's till I found one that fitted.
