Can be mistakes anywhere, Wrong registration could have been given or they may have been driving someone elses vehilce under a different policy, company policies fleet trade polices lots of things can come into,

read your policy it will say " in the event of your car being written off we will only pay the makret vlaue of your car...
If u are lookin for the cheapest insurance then fair enough.

I jst know from dealing with the claims i specialised in motor their policy does not offer the greatest comprehensive policy

They will only pay out for the market value of the vehicle, it doesnt matter if you have outstanding finanace, they see it as not their porblem, your own isnurance would be the same
