Ah yeah that would have been me, cheers! You had a pretty mental one yourself at one point did you not?
It is mate, cheers for keeping it looking its best. If I own something that's actually in a decent colour again I'll get back to you!
You and me both. Gonna be one I always regret selling...
So as said above, the time came for me to sell the car on, not out of choice but necessity. Knew it was coming for a while so took the car on a last couple of runs to get some final enjoyment out of it. First was a run with the Rev Limits group:
Then a couple of weeks later me and a few...
I am indeed selling. Could use the money tied up in it as a mortgage deposit (yawn) so unfortunately it has to go. Been putting it off for most of this year actually.
Gonna miss it like f**k. There's genuinely nothing in the same price range that I would consider changing it for out of choice.
That's the one. Went bang at 950ish. Now capped at 860ish for this show season then coming back off the road over winter to go for 1000bhp and AWD according to the owner. Mental!
I forgot to add, it was a little outshone on the day by this one being parked directly across from it:
850ish (atm) bhp. The turbo is the size of my f**king head.
Cheers mate, never saw you around! Whole stand was looking spot on, nae sheds in sight.
I do still worry the price will drop...
Another small update for the RS, I've done a little more to it again. This time the reason being the car was due to appear on BeTappd's stand at Scottish Car Show, so I decided the car needed to look its very best for this!
Started off by running my car into the workshop after finishing a...
I still remember one of the paint reps (Can't remember what company he was from) coming into our place and telling us "If a Ford comes in and it's midnight sky, don't even f**king touch it" LOL
Indeed, I think Ford make difficult colours just to f**k with people. Ultimate Green, Electric Orange, Electric White, Midnight Sky, Hot Magenta, the list goes on. Half of them are on shopping models too ffs.
I'll keep that in mind mate! Should look awesome come next Sunday!
Macrae and Dick in Stirling currently have one in similar spec and age to this, same colour which they want 23k for, I payed a fair chunk less than that 2 years ago!
It does, however if you look at the before picture you'll...
Daaaaaaeee it.
Cheers Danny, aye if I was a paying customer as a rough guess I'd be in the £600+ region, possibly more!
They're still commanding silly money for what is still a 6 year old Ford Focus!
Another unexciting update, after 32k miles the paintwork on my RS had suffered from stone chipping, nothing major but as I'm a painter and had some time off I thought I'd give it a tidy up. There was also a small scuff on the front bumper, which I certainly did not cause but have no idea...
Trading standards because of some swirl marks, calm yourself.
Like Gally said, will have come from washing after it's been painted/polished most likely, not poor paintwork. 90% of the public don't even know what a swirl mark is so it'll have been washed with a single bucket and a 50p sponge.
You break it you buy it?
It does, having an LS3 under the bonnet helps. It's hilarious to follow around town, one of the loudest standard exhausts I've ever heard.
Forgot to add these in here, went out in the cars last Sunday as it was a nice day/evening, decided to take a couple of quick videos of the noise:
It was however a little outshone by my mate's new car, which had me genuinely laughing out loud to myself following him through tunnels etc:
Cheers bud, what colour/wheels you going for?!
You're too busy dain grown up hings!
I stopped by for a swatch at them tonight after work, crazy asking prices from them as usual.
Aye it's still fairly clean anyway, especially since I drown it in wet coat, just a decontamination and a decent wax for the better weather coming in really!
Forgot to add, also purchased a Revo SPS switch for the car, which allows me to swap between high/low/stock performance settings as well as a "Valet" mode which means boost won't kick in at all and the car is limited to 3500 rpm. The main reason I bought it however is for anti theft mode, which...
Another small update to this, the wheels I have originally come with plain black plastic centre caps which you can put your own badges onto. The previous owner of my wheels had a green Ford emblem on a black gel inlay, like so:
I've never really been a fan of having OEM manufacturer logos on...
Just had a hunt through Facebook and found it, that's the first one I've ever heard of happening on an RS! Syvecs will be putting it under a lot more strain I'd expect, the risk of pushing boundaries eh. Don't think I'd be happy with the previous tuner either mind.
You going hybrid with the...
That's one thing I experienced on my run up round there a couple months back, lack of decent fuel! Got to Tesco in Oban and it didn't even have super either, fack!
Christ! CH-Rs are awesome wheels, half the price of these again on top plus a full new set of tyres made them out of my price...
That's some s**t luck that! Do you still have standard wheels on yours? Hopefully it won't be too expensive!
Cheers mate, pics don't capture how well they sit in the arches IMO! How come you were down this way?
I agree I think Stage 4 is just the right number for them to retain driveability/reliablity and without putting too much stress on expensive components. Stage 4+ would be nice, but as I said that risks clutch problems and I would need to spend another grand at least on boost...
That's a fair list, Syvecs is absolutely hilarious to see/listen to! I'm keeping an eye on that one too, IIRC Simon still holds the record for highest output with Maxwell's old car?
Nothing major for me next really, I want a Triple R splitter to finish off the outside looks wise, then next...
Aye I know they used to be MVM imports, seem to have a fair few nice things in. Mainly want to know what the belt situation is with the 200 and if it's shat a gearbox yet...If 200s still do that.
I did love the standard look, one thing I won't miss is having to clean those wheels though, killed my soul a little every time I thought about it.
Awesome! Any more plans for it? Your current one has quite the spec list from memory!
I highly doubt it no, bit of a trek from where I am! You attending?
Lol, that's the CS response I expected.
Aye I mind you saying, main dealers - wenks.
Design flaw, rear bumper sitting too tight to the quarter (on some of them) rubbing the paint off, moisture/dirt getting trapped in there...
Christ, even the purist likes it!
I've not payed much attention to prices recently actually, it's definitely worth paying a little extra to get one from the likes of RS Direct or another decent dealer, there's a lot of shite about. Quite a few that have had big power and been flung back...
