I have a Ph1 172..... Been told by the garage it needs an Altenator tension belt..... Been quoted £240 for parts and labour.. That sound reasonable???

I'll just be leaving it into the Renault garage, i'm sure they'll replace whatever needs to be replaced.... If something should not be retensioned, then i'm hoping/sure it won't!

All belts etc have already been changed on the car by the previous owner only a few thousand miles ago....

I had exactly the same problem with my ph1 172, the top mount was completely knackered.... (Well I think it was the top mount, visible just to the back left hand side of the engine - I'm not very mechanically minded) Got charged £80 or £90 for mount and fitting, I think I was robbed... But...

Hi Folks... Recently bought a ph1 172, it has now developed a funny noise coming from the engine bay direction when you accelerate any way hard... It does it most in 1st gear, then a wee bit in second then less in third etc etc.... Sounds horrible, like a really bad knocking... It also only...
