Ph1 172 - Noise

Hi,

I went to look at a 172 last night, the wee car is in great nick with only 51k miles....

Only thing putting me off is a noise that is quite high pitched.... The fella sellling says it's a bearing in power steering pump?

It does go away slightly as the car warms up, but never completely...

Any thoughts?

Could be just a worn idler bearing.

If it sounds like it's super charged then i', going for the AUX belt

The fella i'm contemplating buying it off is supplying a warranty, so i think I can get it fixed under that anyway....

Would you let it put you of buying the car??
