I've seen this gt3 green 182 going around this area a fair bit recently !,I'm sure he had a pearl white one previously,both are nice cars and the guy keeps them well,nice recaros in his green one too I believe !

Yeh both 02 sensors are connected up fine as i've double checked them,i've also replaced the throttle body and fuel pump to no avail,it seems that it doesn't prime the fuel pump when first switched on but always on the second attempt and every time after that,although i think thats normal...

Just to confirm on the turbo f4r i've removed the flywheel and you can quite clearly see they've used the same block and just extanded the mouth and sump to fit the larger 6sp box,i've swapped the sump for the 182 one plus flywheel & clutch and offered the 5 speed 182 box up to it and marked the...

to be honest we get asked for and or sell far more 6speed boxes than 172/182 boxes,obviously thats without them running with a turbo right enough

well yeh thats another concern,time will tell,at least i can get replacements cheap enough and easily enough if needed

thats interesting to know its been done,i had a good look at both bottom ends today and see no reason why if done right it wouldn't work,they're not that different

got the engine/box out today and removed the gearbox,as mentioned i now see the different bolt pattern,i really dont want to try and fit the 6spd box but dont know wether to try and get the block drilled and tapped to accept the 182 gearbox or strip and use the internals in the 182 block,either...

Another option maybe would be to use my 182 engine block and transfer all engine internals into it from the turbo engine and use standard g/box etc,its for a turbo conversion i'm doing by the way

Hi my 172 cup is not turning over,it started to get lazy when starting over the past few weeks and now wont start at all. as you say ditz i'll have a look at where the wires from the rack are ending and slot them into the gaps in the 172 fusebox hopefully

the electrics to the rack are not in the engine loom on the 1.2 either,none of the wiring for the steering gets touched when changing the engine other than where they join in the fusebox,the main 80A live and earth are still joined in the fusebox but its not enough for the steering to work so i...

Yeh it may turn out to be too light for me also but i'd like to try it first,the 172 and 182 engines are the same and i've fitted the 182 ex man etc aswell,the pins on the 172 loom fit the 182 ecu ok so it works fine

as far as i can see if i use an 850 belt and the water pump sits between the belt so its being turned by the bottom part of the belt then the water pump will be turning the opposite way to standard and that aint good,any advice please,thanks

Thanks franx,i have the rack etc but before i fit the engine i wanted to remove the p/s pump and re-route the shorter belt onto it without the pump,i take it thats what i need to do and what route does the belt take around the water pump and alt,thanks

Hi on my 182 conversion i'm wanting to use a manual rack and a cup alt bracket setup,ive got the cup setup fitted at the mo but it looks like when i remove the p/s pump to run a shorter belt it will foul the water pump,i've searched and see that its fine to use a shorter belt maybe around an 850...

Chrisjk,sorry i misread that question as rwd and not rear mounted,i need the car to have a full set of seats mate for practicallity
