    Knocking when accelerating from stationary

I think so. I’m pretty sure the knock was there before I replaced them, so I’m hoping it isn’t that. I might order these top mounts and see if that helps at all. If not, then I’ll move on to the engine mounts.

    Knocking when accelerating from stationary

I’m getting an annoying knocking sound when I pull off from stationary. It’s a single knock and sounds/feels like it’s coming from the front right, around the top mount. I’m thinking the issue is the top mount but I wanted to check if anyone had any other ideas? They’ve never seem to sit...

    Clio 182 Trophy Front Springs

I spoke to Mark Fish earlier today and he’s still got a couple of sets available so I’m going to have one off of him. Really nice guy and seems to know a ton about these cars.

    Clio 182 Trophy Front Springs

My front spring has snapped and I just wanted to confirm my assumsions are correct before I order a new set. From what I understand I can't get OEM springs as they're no longer manufasctured. The only option I can see is to get them from Mark Fish. Is this still correct? Just wanted to check...

    ABS Ring Size

Thanks both for the help. It just looked a little odd with the overhang. Oh and wow that’s a clean car!

    ABS Ring Size

Is the trophy suspension considered cup?

    ABS Ring Size

Hopefully I'm just being paranoid, but does this abs ring look too big? It looks to be over hanging by a couple of mm but I’m not sure if that’s normal? I measured it and it’s 16mm wide.

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Thanks, I'll have a go at burning them out. I just hope all my bashing with a hammer hasn't ruined them

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Now the wishbone is out I was planning to replace them entirely with new bushes etc. I've read the OSF wishbone has been discontinued so it's either refurb mine or get some aftermarket ones. I was looking at the below. Would these be ok with one of these stiffening plates? Or should I stop being...

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Reciprocating saw made easy work of the bolt. Thanks for all the help everyone 👍

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Thanks for the replies everyone. Hoping to get a recip saw at the weekend and get this sorted. I've got another quick question that seemed too basic to start a new thread. Can the below be removed for access to the arb? The car is currently on axle stands and I wasn't sure if it's safe to remove...

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Thanks. Never used one of these saws before, will the blade that comes with it be suitable or do I need a specific blade?

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Unfortunately not. I do have a multi tool so was thinking that might do the job?

    Removing seized wishbone bolt

Does anyone have any tips for removing these buggers? I’ve tried everything and it just won’t budge. The inner metal of the rubber bush has seized to the bolt from what I can tell. I’m happy to take a grinder to it but I don’t have the access. Would a multi tool do the job?

Clio 182 - Oil leak under engine - Common Areas?

Thanks. I've got some brake cleaner so I'll give it a good clean and report back when I have a better idea of where it might be leaking from. Hopefully not that many places!

Clio 182 - Oil leak under engine - Common Areas?

I’ve had an advisory on my MOT for the last few years for an oil leak. I’m trying to locate it to fix but I’m struggling to find the source. I've cleaned up the underside the best I can in an attempt to find it so time will now tell. However, are there some common areas to investigate? I've...

Front wheels spin freely when jacked up

Thanks. That makes sense. I did a bit of Googling and that seems to agree with what you’re saying. Phew 😂

Front wheels spin freely when jacked up

This is almost certainly a daft question, but I’m going to ask it anyway. When my car is in gear the front wheels couldn’t spin when one side was jacked up. Now both sides are jacked up they spin, even in gear. Is that normal or have I knocked something out?

182 brakes gone squishy over the winter

I'm not sure if this is too obvious, but has my brake fluid leaked out of the bleed nipple snapped hole?

182 brakes gone squishy over the winter

Thanks, no leaks that I can spot. I’ll probably need to replace the callipers. One of the bleed nipples has rusted off so unable to bleed it 😩

182 brakes gone squishy over the winter

Just wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on this before I start taking the brakes off. The brakes were fine last year and I’ve not had any need to drive the car until now. The brake pedal goes hard if I pump it with the engine off. If I start the engine the pedal goes to the floor and...

    MOT Advisories (Anti-roll bar pin)

Cheers, I'll check them first. Is the below correct? Would I need anything else? https://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/steering-suspension/renault-clio-172-182-anti-roll-bar-bush-kit/

    MOT Advisories (Anti-roll bar pin)

Thanks both. I'll just replace all the bushes as I have no idea when they were last done. Any recommendations? I found the below from powerflex. https://www.powerflexsuspensionbushes.co.uk/powerflex-front-lower-wishbone-bush-pff60-301-for-renault-clio-ii-inc-172--182-1998-2012-91121-p.asp

    MOT Advisories (Anti-roll bar pin)

:ROFLMAO: I did think that one was a little odd. I guess it's just that they can't assess the possibility of rust on the sills? It went to Mick at Diamond Motors for belts etc and he put it through the MOT with another garage (I'm not sure which).

    MOT Advisories (Anti-roll bar pin)

Hi All, I'm looking for some advice on my latest MOT advisories. The Clio has been off the road for a year due to lack of requirement and time. Anyway, I'd like to get it back on the road but wanted to sort a few issues first. The ones I'm not sure on are the anti-roll bar pins or bush. Is...

    Rear Wiper Bearing

Got it off with the Dremel and a bit of force.

    Rear Wiper Bearing

Thanks. I need to replace the whole arm because it’s snapped around that spline. I called it a bearing but only because I couldn’t think of a better name 😀

    Rear Wiper Bearing

Quick question, am I right in thinking the below bearing needs to be removed if I’m to replace the rear wiper on the 182? I think it’ll need grinding off but wanted to check before I hack away at it.
