Black wheels just don't have any impact, it's ok if you have MASSIVE brakes on the car and want to showcase them, but in reality you need something you can see to show your rims off, be different, do them in gold......
Leave them on. If you take them off you just end up with another standard 172. They ain't chavvy unless you haver ferking bass hunter playing with the fronts wide open :rasp:
more likely to remove the rear decal (as in the rear stripe part) as I prefer the F1 style ones to the stripe, and the boot bit is the bit I kinda ain't fond of.
It's more the angles on the car that make a problem, the boot for example has three angle changes for the one sticker! The roof was easy (ish) and the bonnet is a nightmare as if you work from the centre line (as I did) it looks totally off
Happy with the results though, and for £25 all...
All done, it doesn't look right when you are close up, so will take pics/video of it coming down the road, which is when it looks awesome:
I readliy admit that I will never put a stripe on a 197 again, as find a straight line on this car is like looking for a needle in a haystack!
Sad day when you change cars for kiddies. I did a few years back, sold one of the best spec'd Cooper Ss for a diesel Nissan Note (minis really do suck though when it comes to kids). Now have a 197 and all the room in the world. I just changed his seat (away from his huge Recaro ISO Fix one)
Can't comment about 197 v Type R as we have never crossed paths before, but my old Cooper S used to love destroying Type Rs, and I keep getting told the Cooper S ain't as quick....................
In the real world the Type R has a VERY narrow power band, and you can catch them napping quite...
V-Power all the time, car runs like crap on 95 octane (and is unbearable on a morning).
Also get better mpg with V power, averaging 28mpg with V Power and 24 when I used 95 octane.
Car runs superb on Tesco 99 but the nearest garage that stocks it is too far away to fill-up regularly.
If the wife spotted the Ferrari in a childs bay I would feel sorry for the owners, especially if she was in the Vecturd (it's her pet hate, and even I wouldn't argue with the wife when she is behind the wheel)
Car looks nice and clean
