Ahh I built the arch above the gate there the other day. Nothing to do with the interior though, I believe the painter made a mess?
I am working directly opposite.
Spotted on saturday evening at around 11PM. Looked very tidy, I was walking along the road from No1 Shakespeare street (can't remember the name)
Anyone from here?
Hi all. Yet another problem has occured with my Clio.
Went to start the car earlier and the electronic fault light flashed up (the one that looks like a heart beat monitor) and the car would not rev. Well thats not true as it would rev by itself? It also sounded really rough.
It should be...
Thanks for all the replys. Looks like it may have to be put on hold for a while now anyway. Yet another fault light (electronic fault) came on earlier. The joys of owning french hot hatches!
Hi all. As above, I need a new exhaust. My Original Renault exhaust, I think, is beginning to rot!
I like the tone the standard exhaust system gives and wouldn't want to go any louder. Any recommendations? I don't really want to go back to a standard exhaust system as I believe they are...
Sounds like a fair price to me.
Full rebuild and a few other little bits on my 172 cost just over a grand!

Those chaps rebuilt it for me and these chaps

Did the actual work on the car. I always use them and they are bloody...
Cheers. That was the first time I have ever seen a trophy up close, very nice.
Next purchase was going to be a 197 or a megane 225 but I am now looking at trophys.
I have seen this also, parked next to her in the shell garage in Stratford on Avon, then followed her back to my home in Welford (we were going the same way, I wasn't stalking lol) she carried on in the direction of Bidford. Nice car, nice driver!
Yes I appreciate its not hard but it is a pain in the ass, would you not agree?
"the looms just a bit a wire to allow a new connector.. "
Cheers if thats the case then yes it has been changed.
Going to take it back to my mechanics on Thursday and let them have a look at it,
Cheers for...
Hi thanks for the reply, I have only been replacing the sensor. Would the loom be a big job?
With regards to it being knocked that is a possibilty and one that I am going to look into further. When they have been replaced there isn't sign of any damage but that doesn't mean to say thats not...
Hi thanks for the reply, yes it has been on diagnnostics the only fault that came up was one with lambda but after a quick inspection it seemed that the lambda was OK (until payday anyway).
I thought it would be something more in depth than just a simple sensor.
You will have to excuse my lack of knowledge.
I presume its electric but am a complete mechanical numpty. The car will turn over fine but it will not fire, when the Crank sensor is replaced it fires and starts.
Also when first started and for say a minute after starting, the car has an...
Hi all, well after having my car back from its Gearbox rebuild and a lovely bill of £900 for that and a few other things my car has now developed another problem. It has been through three Crank Sensors in about 4 weeks! Luckily I haven't had to pay for them or any labour but what could be...
Thanks again for the replys. I sent it off to this place today http://www.gearboxman.co.uk/ around £500 for a full recondition, not to bad. It wasn't just the circlip it was pretty mangled to be honest, a former owner must have treated it very badly.
At the moment I am not entirely sure. I will find out tomorrow, all I know for definite is that it is buggered! Will report back when I know.
Tony, are you going to let on to who this chap is? I am getting a price tomorrow from my guys but would like to have more than one option for the rebuild.
Cheers for the replys guys. I think I am going to go down the reconditioned route, Tony is the cost you mention from somewhere in astwood bank?
The chaps that do the work on my cars http://www.ejmpreparation.co.uk/ (The 106 on that site is my old car) Mentioned that is where he would send it...
Hi all, well after roughly 4 months ownership my gearbox has given up the ghost. The car in question is a Y reg 172 with around 45k on the clock.
So where do I go from here? Do I buy a second hand gearbox or do I have mine reconditioned?
Just looking to hear from others who have had similiar...
Well I am going to book it into my Garage soon (www.ejmpreparation.co.uk) and see if they can work their magic on it. Will report back when I know
Edit- Whats the colour of my font all about?
Hi all. Have had my 172 for a couple of months now. I love it, great little car, excellent fun down the smaller back roads and smaller tracks and generally quite a nice car to be in.
However. My car really struggles and I mean really struggles above 100mph, up until that speed it performs...
