no - power feels unchanged....it was an Arvin one which is OE anyhow..

I will give it a good drive tonight and feel if it has lost any power.....as long as economy is not effected I am not too bothered as I may sell it soon...and a new back box is always a good selling point..

reduced back pressure in exhaust (hole) may be is reducing power... But this would be consistent power loss, but reduced then picks up again...maybe lamda sensor also?

Hi I guess the clio 172 back box must have fallen in prices....just had a standard (albeit non-OE) one fitted for £47 + vat......the only difference is that it is a little more boomy at idle but under throttle sounds fine.... I'am I right in thinking Renault wanted £570? Its a bit smaller...

Hi I have noticed my Clio 172 (52 plate) has used just under 1ltr of oil over 1,000 miles. I dont drive it hard (occasional blast)... It runs well, and I get 33mpg. Does this engine use much oil, or is this excessive, and what could it be if it was a prob...? Thanks Rob

the 2 rubber palm grips on the steering wheel have ripped and have a little hole in them now. Thats why I want to change - or somehow replace these..??

Hi On my Clio 172 the passenger seat is far too high and there is no way of changing it..or should I say lowering it. Should there be a handle which a previous owner has broken or are they all like that..? Rob

Hi I have noticed how worn out and damn ugly the Clio 172 steering wheel is...looks crap and is far too big the for the car (the centre design anyhow) Is it easy to change the steering wheel to another Renault airbaged one which looks nicer and is in better condition.. Thanks Rob

anyone know the bulb i need for the station/time/temp lcd display...? Also I have noticed none of my stereo buttons light up - would this be down to the blow fuse which is causing it to switch off after 20 mins and not starting on ignition...its aint a bulb in the stereo - I know what LOL>>!!!

when you say remove the dash...are we talking about removing the centre facia and not the actual dash..?
