octane 98 recommended in the tankvalve ---> mine says the same... and my renault dealer sayd if I used 95 probably I would have a loss of power..
if minimum is 95...cool--->98octane is less expensive...ill use 100only after the program.. :)
This is something new here...(in portugal) 100octane gasoline..
BP says it even gives more power to the car.. is it possible(i thoght??
One thing is sure, for cars like the clio 172 "sense" if octane level is lower than 98 and cut some power, with this new 100octane clio will always be...

My cd player (reaults standart for 172) skips a lot.. when on a bumpy road, when stoped, when accelarating, when curving...jjjeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..
is this a known problem to renault??
my brother has a 172 to and the same problem..
gearbox.. and..
CTR 200hp that are realy about 210
172 172hp that are realy about 165
and tunning
172 + chip + filter + decat = 185-190hp
CTR + chip + filter + decat = 230hp
the difference until the 4th gear is not big.. but when you (like me with a 172) change to 5th you have to...
i had one 2.0 150bhp... very good car.. all aspects(motor, brakes, curving) except the 11.5l/100km on day-to-day use:)
ah and the old gear box.. try to pass prom 1st to 2nd gear quikly without scratching:)
i have a mkII clio172..
is there any way of changing the ignition rpm limiter to 7500rpm at all gears without having to put a new program on the ecu??

if you have money go to AutoFernandes..on mine chip+cams+filter=18-20bhp
on your i thing that it wont be less tan 10-12bhp plus 500rpm.. and i think it will go to 125mph because you will gain those 10-12 of power on high rpms..

slicks, filter, chip and no cat.. but anyway
i dont care:) i love to see a clio172 saying byebye to the ctr..
and even on some tiny bits when they are going on straight line, the clio seems superior..
and off course on a straight line(both stock ctr wins, and if ctr had the same mods it...

turn the car off.. open the protector plastic of the speedometer.. pull the pointer out, put it back on with it pointing to 60mph.. ok.. turn the car on and ~GOOOOOOOOO....

hummmm.. have to find the mag where i saw that... but thats what a saw..
clio cup.. comes with lower springs -30mm.. (compairing to clio172rs)..
maybe eibach has already new springs for the cup.. (seems a bit soon, but..)

renault you will probably pay more than buying them directly from eibach.. but if your car is in the warranty period, and if you dont any problems buy them from renault:)
