Just thought I'd say bye.
I've grown up and bought myself an '03 Audi A4 1.9 TDi Sport in Black. Very nice motor.
Cheers for any advice/help anyone's given me over my 2 years on here.
In case anyone's interested I sold the Y reg 1.2 Clio Grande with 77k miles for £1k to a mate. I had it...
Ages ago my keyfob stopped working. The click had gone from the button and changing the battery didn't help. The spare had the same problem when I bought it but I didn't think much of it. No biggie. I just used to lock the car on the dash board button then lock the drivers door with the key...
Re: Strange problem with fog light on dash when I indicate right or brake when lights
OK you were right. It was dead easy. I thought you meant the contacts between the bulb and the cluster not the cluster and the loom. Cleaned them up with a bit of sandpaper today and no more freaky lights on...
Re: Strange problem with fog light on dash when I indicate right or brake when lights
You mean the connectors that the bulbs fit into or the connectors to the light cluster from the loom?
Ok so I've got this problem with my dashboard or rear lights. When I have the lights on and I indicate right, the dash light for the rear fog light comes on faintly too. Also if you brake it sometimes comes on a bit. The actual fog bulb in the rear light cluster doesn't come on except when it's...
You know, I did have problems with my battery over winter and had to charge it a couple of times. I figured I'd probably need a new one before this winter but it's been ok for the last few months so I just left it.
Maybe I'll try that. Cheers for the advice. It's the totally random nature of...
I needed a new battery for my keyfob so I bought 10 from eBay on the cheap. I they would last about 5 days then stop working so I just bought a duracell. This worked perfectly for over a week then it started to go wrong too. Some days I will come to the car and it will open in the morning, then...
We use Dynamics CRM and host it ourselves. The sales/service guys use it via IE or they have an offline client for Outlook so they can work when they don't have internet.
I like it but I've got to be hones they tend to find it a bit "clicky". Personally I think they want the moon on a bloody...
Try googling for "Turn off UAC in Windows 7"
All that security stuff is only there to stop morons installing viruses and malware by accident. Most people just click yes to get rid of it anyway. Then again, if you needed help finding out how to turn it off maybe you should leave it on :rasp:
Also don't forget that it has to explicitly state in his terms of employment that his internet usage will be monitored and that looking at p**n is a sackable offence or your mate won't have a leg to stand on. Doesn't all your internet traffic go through a server before going to the internet...
More versatile? what? The Onkyo will have just as many inputs if not more and I doubt you'll ever use them all.
One good thing about the Denon (that I feel is missing from the Onkyo) is the display. It has a little diagram that shows you what sound is coming in i.e. stereo, 5.1 etc so you can...
I've got the Onkyo 608 (£350 atm) and the Canton Movie CX80 (£150 if you can find them) 5.1 speakers. I can't fault them at all. They sound incredible and they're so small and discrete. Hopefully getting another 2 speakers to make up to 7.1 high soon.
Wanted to avoid garage if I could to be honest. Got a mate coming up this weekend so we'll jack it up and get it on stands so we can have a good prod about.
Last night on the way home, I noticed a knocking noise coming from the suspension when I went over potholes or bumps in the road. It seemed to need to be bigger holes but it was there. Like a kind of loose metal and metal thud.
What do you think this could be?
The car 1.2 Grande and has done...
Whenever I've had one of these machines come via my office I've just booted them up, created the Windows 7 images (this is very important if you ever want to go back to win7 as they don't include the discs these days) then stuck the XP downgrade disc in and run it. It's never asked me for a key...
Mines got to be either
Jaguar XJS in white
or Jaguar XKR in blue
I mean I'd never get one cos they're a 4.2L Super charged bundle of expensive insurance and high road tax just waiting to happen.
I didn't do the leads in the last service so they were probably in need of a change anyway.
At the end of the day, you've got to ask what's your time worth. Do you want to spend a Saturday under the car or doing other stuff. Plus I could have spent more money buying bits I didnt need trying to...
Just got word from the garage.
He changed the coil pack and leads.
Charged me £113 for the pleasure. Bit gutted with the price to be honest but I guess if he spent a long time trying to diagnose it it's fair enough.
If I'd known it was definitely that I probably could have done it myself...
The engine revs normally in neutral. No smell of petrol that I can notice. I checked the leads but was at work so couldn't check the plugs.
I know the car is s**t slow anyway but this is definitely something wrong. I've had it for nearly a year now, you don't think I'd suddenly go, "Hey, this...
I've heard it could be related to the Renault coil pack being a bit dodgy.
I could get a new one and fit it I guess but I'm kind of flying blind here. Might just stick it in the garage (again)
I think my engine's only running on 3 cylinders. It's only a 1.2 so I'm not expecting much but when I pull away from some lights or go uphill the engine really struggles. It seems to pull fine for a couple of secs but then it kind of stutters/shudders a bit and has no power.
What could be...
Just thought I'd let you know. It failed the MOT on the back brakes and a front ball joint. So I just wacked it in the garage.
The charged me £70 for a new rear brake cylinder (apparently that's what had gone and one of the rears wasn't working at all) and ball joint + Labour. Not to bad...
I guess it could just not be pulling it on hard enough. if that's the case then I will sort it this weekend. I got an earlier appointment for the MOT so it's in there now. Maybe I'll be lucky and it'll just pass. I doubt it though :dapprove:
I don't know weather just tightening the cable will...
I've got my MOT next week and I'm worried about my handbrake.
A few months ago a brake shoe sheared off and wedged in my drum causing the left hand rear wheel to lock up.
I replaced the shoes but the hand brake has never quite been the same since.
Has anyone got any advice how I can...
So you're saying that if you took your telly back to Panasonic after 2.5 years and there was a big black line down the middle of the screen, they'd just fix it for you gratis? Under a standard warranty? I know a lot of them tell you it's 1 year guarantee where as actually it's 2 years minimum by...
