Mine was 10 weeks at time of order and it ended up being 14. The dealer seemed like he was in the dark a bit because he didnt know it was arriving until it rolled off a transporter! I think you have to cross your fingers and pray...
Looks great! Ive got one on order right now to replace the 172 - in Arctic blue with full leather, climate and xenons added. I really like the Inferno colour but went for the Arctic in the end.
Can I ask how long you had to wait from time of order? Mine has been confirmed for exactly 2 months...
I dont really see too many Clios around Harlow (seems to be overrun with CTRs whenever Im driving!) - see a couple of 16vs every day, another 172 (red - that seems to work at Darlingtons in Harlow) and the occasional Cup, but I dont know if any are members here.
Just as an aside and something I just thought of.....
At the time when I hadnt a clue what was causing it and thoughts about fuel, oil and water were going around in my mind.......I checked the water before leaving to go back and it was right on the minimum. I topped it up before leaving and...
Wow thanks Jay and Ben. So is this something I could easily do myself if I get the part or am I best paying Renault to do it? (assuming that is the problem)
I assume I just get the part from them? Any particular term to ask for to make sure I get the right thing?
Thanks again for your great...
Errr I dont have a 3 year warranty (import), so Im screwed if it needs a new ECU!! I think what JAY172 and BenR said makes a lot more sense than a whole ECU being at fault. I hope
ak_uk, did you speak to a dealer about it, or did it just go away? On my short journey to work today it...
Thanks both! Im not the most technical person under a bonnet, so youll have to bear with me if I sound like a dumb ass.
So if it was that, then Im not damaging the car by driving it? Its just cutting my power because it senses "something" wrong with the car (even if minor) and doesnt want me...
Dont know if anyone has any ideas or has had this themselves?
Today I was just coming to the end of an hour long motorway run in my 172. As I saw the turn off I wanted, I indicated over and noticed that my temperature guage had dropped down to cold. It then shot back up and down (like a boost...
ESP/traction came in around September 02 (52 plate), so if its 02 you wont have it. CD multichanger was removed (as std) from about Oct 02, so youll still have that. Early 52 reg ones (like mine) got traction/ESP and multichanger as standard
If youve got it, theres an ESP/traction button next to the dashboard light dimmer wheel on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Clear side repeaters came in from beginning of 2003 and ESP was, as said, about August/September 2002.
I did say before but it must have got lost in the mass of replies! You dont get 2 years on a Cyprus import (or Malta). You only get 1 year and yes, thats from the original sale date to the Cypriot dealer so you could end up with a 9 or 10 month warranty on a new car. I thought Id say it again...
For your info, Cyprus (and Malta for that matter) only get 1 year.....not even two!
Black is very nice when clean but awful when dirty......its also the one that looks least like a 172 when you see it. I think thats because of the colour itself masking certain features at first glance - i.e...
Not a bad result considering the competition!
It beat (in their opinion):
Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, Noble M12 GTO-3R, BMW M3 CSL, Impreza STi Spec C, VX220 Turbo, Bentley Continental GT and Porsche Cayenne turbo.
It was only (just) beaten by the Lambo Gallardo and the Porsche 911 GT3...
I thought I remembered reading (on here) that the one they have that is 10999 is because its from Malta and therefore only 1 year warranty as opposed to the standard EU 3 year warranty on all the others they are selling.
7200 on a 2002 (52) 172 - in fact, its a year old on Friday! Working locally has its advantages.....especially when it comes to resale. Downside was how long it took to run in!
Make sure you are in the right gear. It loves to be ragged. It pulls along nicely in any gear, but it only PERFORMS in the right one. If you start flooring it in 3rd....ask yourself whether dropping to 2nd might have given you a better start. Im a naturally lazy driver, so often dont drop a gear...
Just to add to the people with no real problems (seeing as people dont post to say "Ive got nothing at all wrong with my car"!). Interior is a bit rattley as youd expect from a french car and used to have a little electrical problem with the ESP light which went away, but aside from that I...
Dont want to swap, but I have the autoleads kenwood adaptor and am prepared to sell for much less than you can buy one for new as its just gathering dust. PM if you are interested.
Ditto the Punto GT suggestion. Their handling isnt great (nowhere near Clio 16v as standard) but their straight line performance IS (to a point). In fact seeing as the Clio 16v is a pretty revvy car, the Punto could catch a 16v driver out with that strong turbo. Their torque figure is very...
Yep....all cars paid for either by me, or partially by bank loan/finance, which still counts as me as I pay the monthly payments.
First car: Astra 1.4CDi
Second car: *ahem* Nova GSi (at the age of 17 as well.......insurance wasnt as bad as it is these days!)
Third car: AX GT
Fourth car...
I think youll find that reg plate generator is for old style plates, i.e. X000 XXX style where the last two letters used to indicate where registered.
Looking at your format, you have a current registration style of XX00 XXX and the last 2 letters in that mean nothing. If I stick my car in...
Its aluminium effect door handles, aluminium/graphite look insert on top of the leather gearstick, the aluminium insert along top of glovebox, aluminium dash surround (around instruments), part leather/part alcantara sports seats (Id imagine they are deeper than the seats in a 1.2) with...
More like 0.3 secs - I have both brochures in front of me now - 6.9 to 62 vs 7.2 to 62.
This topic comes up so often, it should be in the FAQ. Its funny how it stills stirs a debate every time! Surely it is going to be staringly obvious that anyone who drives a 172 is doing so out of choice...
