Yep it looks like it. Its going to Brears in Leeds, looks like a new syncromesh. I will probally have to pay and be out of pocket again. Is £200 labour good for an engine out and gearbox job? How much would a syncromesh be? Thanks :)

I cant do it! :( Took the selector rod off messed about hit it a few times and its still not budging! Neatural is second and thats all I get. No other gears engage. What to do?? :(

Hi just a quick question about this HPI check free insurance thing. Can it be from a private seller? As I tried it free from te Aviva site but its asking for a dealer number. Also do you have to prove you have bought the car etc? Dont want to be £20 lighter if it wont work. Thanks :)

Well all the work is sorted and I pick the car up on the 18th, being a massive long wait. Just want to drive my baby :( :(!!! MOT and Tax is due at the end of the month too. So; Car fixed = £705 MOT = £35 TAX = £130 4 New Tyres = £350 Haha all that in a month!!! Madness.

You are almost spot on with the costing there:) Yep its an expensive fix. The geabox is £400 and he is doing the labour at £10PH so all in all not too bad. I can do pads, breaks etc and little jobs. Im going to leave gearbox and clutch problems to a trained people I think :D Very cheeky but...

Well we initially though the arm would only need reheating and bending back into place. He tried to put the gears in manually but you still couldn’t engage reverse. Took the gearbox out and it needs a lot of parts inside, something about a reverse selector and some other bits that have bent or...

Yes mate it had a major service in may and I belive the gearbox oil was changed on 63K miles :)

It makes sense :) The clutch kit is £80 fitted so silly not to do! Just told me the gearbox is £410 to fix, I wonder how much new they are or reconditioned?

I belive he has sent the box off to be looked at and repaired so thats where the other 3 hours have gone to? I need to ring him later and check a few things out so will ask him for sure :)

I have no idea! Doubt it mind, the shop is full of exotica and he knows what he is doing! I think he quoted around 10 hours for labour, me getting mixed he will have the car for 3 days, obv not not 3 days labour charges. :)

Thats what he said, you wouldnt have to pay labour charges, that includes clutch kit, pressure plate and relase bearing and some other bits, plus the gearbox selector folks and a reverse gear thingy!! So not a new gearbox. Hmmm seems expensive thinking about it. You can pickup gearboxes for £250...

Well the gearbox is out, so I guess I cant really ask it to be fitted and get a second opinion. I know the guy and garage so I know he isnt ripping me off. I think I wil leave the clutch in and not get it replaced. I cant really afford to and if it wasnt slipping anyways there could be a few...

£700 all in for a new clutch and all the plates etc aswell as repairing the gearbox, WOW!!! :( :( Gutted isnt the word.
