looks like it must have been something caught or stuck on the heating element - I braved it and blasted the heater on full and the burning smell has now gone - top tip for anyone with the same issue! I do like it when stuff fixes itself without having to spend money!
nice - nothing to serious then. How do I check or what do i need to do. Im assuming its ok to drive the car?? just keep the heater switched off for now?
Morning All,
Got in the car this morning, got a strange squeaking noise coming from the interior fans. After a minute or so, squeaking noise stopped but now got a really strong burning smell and a bit of smoke! Turned the fan off, stopped the car and left for an hour or so, got back in, turned...

I have just fitted 10mm spacers to the rear of my ph2 172 on standard wheels. These are 10mm each side and i have brought extended bolts to compensate the difference. Anyone else fitted these? Just want to know if its safe enough...... the 10mm from FK Automotive are not hubcentric.
but also states that the airbag light is on. if the connector were broke, the service light should come on. and, he says only 20 quid to fix. wouldnt you spend 20 quid and fix before sale if this was the case? just sets alarm bells off in my mind but each to their own. Dunn is right, plenty more...

as you may be aware, some renaults do have electrical faults that occur in them when not looked after properly or due to being a bit old. This seems like mechanically sound but electrical problems which could end up costing you. Xenon headlight for example ios expensive. problem with the...
thats the one! just had a look on mine. the fact the original head unit doesnt work tells me it must be fuse. check if the inline power on the headunit has a seperate fuse also
if this was the case the unit would still work, just no memory. It has to be a fuse, find a diagram which tells you what fuse does what, i found one by searching on google. more than likely a red 10a or yellow 20a fuse, cant remember which
ok. Im in the process of doing an install in my 172 at the moment. So far i have installed new speakers all round, set of 6x9's in the rear powered by alpine amp which runs directly off the battery. Have also uprated all the speaker cabling for better sound!
Next stage is to install an Lcd...
i brought a connects 2 adapter kit for my sony. didnt work either. With the clio, some work, some dont. There is a guy on here that will probably sort you out, have a search at some of the other posts regarding stalk connectors. The correct patch leads etc are more like 50 - 60 quid, not the 20...
well they would be to watch stuff on, obviously, mainly from the dvd head unit up front. Not sure if its been done, thats the whole point of this post. None the less, got a good deal on the monitors 2nd hand so going to give it a shot and its something a bit different.
Ok so not much response to this one............
I have gone ahead and brought 2 Necvox FD-5169 LCD screens. These are 5 inch screens and upon measuring the headrests, i think i can customise these to fit pretty well. Has anyone else done this or used these screens?? Will start a progress thread...
Hi Guys,
Thinking of fitting a pair of monitors in the rear headrests of my 172. I have seen a couple of posts on here so know that it can be done. Just wondering if anyone knew the best monitors to fit, what size etc so that they can be custom fitted into the headrest nicely. Will be power...
