I dropped the engine and gearbox out of the car and the steering came loose in the car, now the Three lights are on the dash, where do i start? How can check that the steering angle is right? do i need a diagnostic machine?

I have just changed the gearbox on my car so dropped the front subframe but i have now to put it all back together and realised that the steering column has come out of joint in the footwell. Whats the best way to do this? Steering wheel off or carpet out?

I managed to find a bit plastic tote box and sent it in that, was £26 next day delivery with interparcel.

I need to send my gearbox down to Agency Transmission but dont know where to start when it comes to getting it posted down there, anyone got ideas?

Did you get anywhere with this? Here is a photo of the end cap of the gearbox, you can see the nuts here, you can get to this under the car without taking too much out.

Is it just a visual inspection?

I'm currently in the process of replacing the gearbox on my 172 and since I've already taken everything off the front of the car it's a good time to replace faulty and worm out parts like shocks and springs etc. But how do I check the CVs and shafts?

Since i bought the car the window on the drivers side often comes out of the rails and gets stuck. Have to push it back in place, it seems that the little black plastic piece that's nailed to the window must be broken, how are these replaced and where will I pick one up?

Im currently changing the gearbox on the clio and while I'm at it i was thinking this is the perfect time to change the suspension setup on the car. When the car is going high speeds it feels a little bit floaty on the roads and doesnt fill me wit confidence so i have been trying to work out...

I've just taken the end cap off my gearbox this morning because it was wining since I had it. About a week ago I lost 5 gear. The gearbox is buggered now! The oil was black and hardly any left, change the oil and fix the leak and you may get a couple more thousand out of it while you get a new...

Just took the cover off this morning and found that 5th was shredded, it's also destroyed the gear on the main shaft so it's new gearbox time... Not going to be able to do it in the driveway am I??
