Did you see MOT motorsport are selling them for £95 a corner at the moment? And slicks for the same price
I bought wets and trying to resist the slicks as my ZTR’s are still decent but it’s tempting
I’ve been following this thread quite closely lurking in the background. I’ve also got epas on my clio and also think it’s a bit rubbish.
have you guys considered binning it off and fitting the ePas from a clio 197/200 and doing a bit of fabrication to make it fit?
This is my 182, not sure about the stripes but I’m a bit nervous about what I’ll find below them!
I’m from Nottingham so my closest track is Donnington, favourite track is probably cadwell after going there for the first time last year. Trying some new ones this year so maybe that’ll change!
Not sure how possible it is, but can you fit the ecu from a pre 52 plate car that won’t have esp and will just have abs at that point. You’ll lose your CC too kind you.
Nope, it’s a bit of an arse but I managed to replace the steering rack on mine with a socket set and some standard spanner’s leaving the subframe in place.
Well the results are in and the changes made a huge difference!
The car is very happy turning both left and right plus the steering is a lot less vague with the manual rack fitted!
Only negative is I managed to knock the steering out of line somehow, probably need to be less aggressive on the...
Yeah I put the ones from the for sale section on here with power flex black series bushes!
Will have to see how it handles at donnington then consider a alignment check somewhere else before tweaking other bits of the setup
Bit of an update though a slightly disappointing one.
I replaced the steering rack, tre’s, ball joints, drivers side driveshaft and the wishbones with the advanced caster ones plus the pure motorsport subframe fixing washers/inserts.
I’ve managed to gain a bit of caster on the passenger side...
Looks like my 182 has gained some non cup 172 wishbones at some point in its life, how strange!!
At least I can remove the poly bushes and just buy some knackered cup ones then refit my bushes I guess.
What spring rate would you recommend i go for? the car is trailered to the track and i think the coilvers are Gaz Gold - they are silver with an adjustment knob on the front if that helps :D
So i am trying to solve some slight handling issues with my 182 track car, @ZachB has kindly pointed out that i am running very little caster and that i have a couple of options to resolve it.
Top Mounts or Adjustable wishbones.
The only option i can find for adjustable top mounts are the BC...
Is it easy to revert back to hydraulic steering?
I can try swapping the rack over to the spare one i have, i take it an dci/1.2 rack is equatable to a manual rack?
So if i change to the spare rack, think it's a dci rack, which problems should that resolve?
initial input required i guess? but will it also resolve the excessive steering input required to move the wheels you suggest that you mention?
I am not really sure how old it all is, i have a pile of receipts with the car and it was completely rebuilt by the previous owner during lockdown 1 so i am hoping that he put new tie rods and ball joints on. But yeah i agree it is certainly worth a check over.
Was just watching some video's...
Are there any area's in particular to check? I am thinking that i might fit the epas rack i have in the garage instead of the standard one that is just capped off i think?
Was at cadwell park yesterday in my 182 with an Epas conversion and i found that the steering is really quite odd and nothing like i remember my old 172 being like.
I did my first trackday in the car at Donnington and found the steering was unnerving when turning left, it would just want to...
Yep, got a slightly better deal than the deal I had before which was already very cheap, think it’s £45 for line rental, fibre, standard tv + F1 channel
