I think the new 93 sport saloon Aero is a very nice car. Handling on the old 93s were sh*te but I have heard the new model is much better. Build quality is good and service from dealers is pretty good also. Th 2 we had here used to get a full valet when serviced which rarely happens now...
The car was new, but no problems at all for the first 18months. Its registered in Sept 01.
Ordered the Mini because they are cool! Not paying 1600squid for the insurance on a 172 otherwise the GF would have had one.
The problem for me is ..
Coil light comes on followed by the engine management light, after that the throttle does nothing and the car revs between 1800 - 2000rpm which means you cant even drive it as it jerks.
Now the car seems to not rev above 3k, which with these engines is useless!
In...
I normally take the V5 direct to DVLA office ( Nottingham for me) and you normally get it back in 2 weeks, then pass on the V5 form to the buyer.
This way as soon as you have been to the DVLA the old plates need to go on the car. As long as the new owner has a proof of purchase from you...
DONT BUY A F*CKING RENAULT !!!
Never again. I have literaly been told today that they are confident they will fix the problem with the next release of ECU software, but this hasnt been finished yet. Oh, and I have had the problem for 4months on and off!
Take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it. Sound like something to do with the ECU/Throttle body.
There is a new ECU program out this week for the Clio which is meant to deal with throttle problems.
Also worth trying Chuchill, I found them to be cheapest for my girlfriend on her Clio, it was actually £50 cheaper adding me as a named driver aswell !!
OK, before I start I have searched through the threads and found mixed information regarding wheels and lowering.
The car is a standard 2001 1.4 Dynamique + with the 15" wheels on.
My girlfriend wants some 17s I need to know the exact offset required and any other information regarding...
Well I assume the throttle body will fix it as this is the only thing that has been changed on the car before it started happening ... lets hope so anyway as she keeps borrowing my car and I have to get a lift to work!!
Thanks for the help guys I will keep you informed!
Well that did it ..... NOT !
Fitted a new throttle sensor on Friday, collected the car and all was fine. Saturday girlfriend used her car throughout the day and had no problems. Sunday monring, starts her up (the car!) and fault immediately happens, press the accelarator pedal and this does...
I think there is yes, I will check with her. What does this mean then ? just proof that its the same problem.
Do you still have this problem on yours then ? She gets annoyed with it when it happens on dual carridgways mainly, oh and in crawling traffic when the car suddenly wants to drive...
Only getting one as I will use the spare for the other, I dont care if there not that good as I dont drive it that much. I always stick to the new Eagle F1 GS-D3 in my car now, they are really good.
Shes saving up for some 17s so keeping it as cheap as poss!
Cheers guys!
I belive they are 185/55/R15 and are Continental, does anyone know the model of tyre as I need to replace one but obvioulsly dont have the car with me.
Need to order today for Saturday
Thanks.
My girlfriend has a Clio Dymanique + 1.4 16V which she has had for over a year now. It has only been to the garage once to have its 6monthly safety check. It recently went into the garage for a Renault recall to have the throttle body replaced (has anyone else had this done ?) since this...
