My b2 has been playing up lately.. Id narrowed it down to a faulty cradle, as the b2 powers up in the house when updating the unit, but not in the car.
Rang up Origin & spoke to a lovely young girl, who within about 1 minute 30 seconds had told me my replacement cradle would be in the post...
Ok

My question:
Is there any sort of running in period for boxes? Should I take it easy for a certain amount of miles?
or not?
Direct Line Breakdown have let me down in a harsh way, and will only pay for the first 10 miles of travel to a garage of my choice (cheers guys).
I was wondering if theres anyone in the Cambs area with a towing bar/vehicle who fancies earning a few quid taking a run to Essex and back...
Ive had my Clio 16v for about a month now, and aside from it recently breaking down on me, its a lovely car.
Nice and quick, good fun, leather is comfy, sound system is decent - all in all a pleasant motoring experience, but something is missing.
Cant put into words what it is, and no...
As well as the tuning/conversions, does Andy cater for repairs too?
Need my car looked at by someone, and Im drawn to him as Id like to meet him before the summer/SMT6 fitting anyways..
... can you fit Williams front shocks to a otherwise standard 16v?
I think not, but a dispute with someone else has put the element of doubt in my mind.
Checking on Dialogys and they have different part numbers, but the both have a "Marking = APAKIB" note which leads you to believe they...
Basically trying to find out how much mileage and age affects any/all of the following parts:
Driveshafts
Wishbones
Anti-Roll Bar
Im purchasing all of these and am undecided whether my peace of mind is worth all the extra cash buying brand new.
Just got a lift back to mine from a very kind man who helped me push the 16v off the country lane it decided to die along.
Basically I was coming out of a T-Junction from a standing start, and itd initially pointed myself in the wrong direction.
I was on full left lock to correct this...
When I had the 17s, I put it down to tyre noise... but now Ive got smaller rims on, the noise is lessened but defiantely still present.
Kind of a whirring, like tyre noise but louder... increases in pitch as speed increases, and is definately related to the wheels as it remains when I drop...
Need my steering column done but Im only ever free on weekends.. makes it hard to get a place to do it.
Does anyone possibly have the skills? (I could rent the technology if need be)
I will provide tea/beer on tap and general assistance.. and a bit of wedge if you want it.
help! cheers
Gotta thank Rockport for drawing my attention to this with a post a while back - made use of it now.
Elite in Rainham have Eagle F1 GSD3s in pretty much all sizes, dirt cheap.. beat mytyres and the prices include fitting and balancing.
Very impressed with the tyres too, been on a couple...
... all I can say is do it now!!
Took off my huge superleggeras today and replaced them with some (temporary) Phase 1 15" turbines.
Wow.
The car is so much more nimble, turns in sharper, moves off from a slow/standing start better, no tramlining (well minimal) - ok theres a tiny bit...
Have been away at work for a couple of days, just returned to find Direct Line have finally given me my crashed Williams2 back!!!

Didnt want to hijack your top mounts thread!!
I am interested in getting some almost standard front springs made up for a Williams, I dont suppose you could tell me the original poundage and length of the standard Williams springs could you?
Ive sent this message in reply to a PM from someone on forum, but I thought Id paste it here too for you.

I cant believe this to be honest.. Im trying to do people a favour.
The original print run was £100 for 5,000 flyers. I didnt even receive this amount of money from...
Have seen this link posted on a couple of websites, so I looked about (in catalogues etc) and read a bit about this device:

Just sorting out these flyers for people, got a sizeable chunk left over (paid for out of my own pocket I might add!)
Gonna be selling bundles of 250 in a couple of days when I sort out exactly how many Ive got, but I just thought it would be nice to "give" you guys some too.
To the...
Ok.. might sound like a gripe to some people whod love a burping, spitting, popping exhaust system, but mine is just excessive!!
Its doing it just cruising in traffic, as soon as I get back on the gas after lifting off.. even in 4th/5th.. even at relatively low revs.
Is this indicative...
At the same time they are royally píssing me off with getting my Williams back from them (still being fed my daily diet of bullshít, bullshít and more bullshít), the sales department have surprised me:
Rang up to cover my new car, and was told I was due a refund of over £100 (despite having...
I know its probably been asked a hundred times, but I want to hear from Williams owners whove changed their suspension..

What do you love about it?
What annoys you?
What ride height/damping are you running compared with standard...

When my car is cold/been standing overnight I get a whining from my rear brakes while backing off the driveway. Until now it was only happening when I applied the brakes, now it happens when reversing back slowly after releasing the pedal too..
What is it?
This evening, on my way home to get ready (to go out with the girlfriend), my Clio decided to run out of petrol.
I knew it was low but was going to get some on the way back out... oh well, stupid me.
I rang my house, and after about half an hour my sister turned up with a can of...
Taken from a Renault tuners website.
"New stainless steel braided flexi-pipes for improved braking and firmer pedal, kit includes both front and rear pipes."
So can fitting braided hoses actually improve braking performance?
I have random theories in my head as to why this may...
