"So far we havent discussed final prices etc. But the only thing that needs doing soon with the 02 plate car is a service in 1800miles, so I reckon we could get that done as part of the sale etc, worth about 180-200 they reckoned for a first service."
too right matey - mine had 9200 on the...
just had a personal reply from someone at meguiars re: which products to use etc.. all good. but - he did advise not using wax when the temp is less than 55 degress (presumably F, ie approx 12 C)
meaning im prob not gonna get it waxed till spring? anyone else aware of this advice and do you...
cheers all and esp mike - have ordered some early burfday pressies from meguiars - shampoo, mitt & drying cloth - my car is actually a year old so will enquire from the dealer on friday what it has been preped with before thinking about waxing - thanks again :D

morning gambler - my monaco 172 still scheduled for collection on friday, feel like a kid on xmas eve - keen to learn the best ways of cleaning/protecting the beast.. come on folks.. whats the best shampoo... i spose i cant take it down to the dodgy eastern european hand wash place...
tell me about this supaguarding then.. guessing that was an option from new...? dont think mine has had it - worth doing now or some other paintwork treatment/protection..?
great stuff - last night i agreed a deal for a 1 year old blue 172 and pick it up on friday - really chuffed - look forward to checking this board out more after being something of a lurker...
agree with Ray - recently had dealings with renault west london and whilst we could not agree on a price/trade in for a new 172 the guy there was very willing to provide a test drive.
when i spoke to reno about ordering one the other day the they predicted september due to the long french summer holidays - hope yours arrives before these start
good luck mate - give em a call
danr - pre-reg is that the cars are already registered to the company, then you buy from them, so you will be the second owner. when i asked a reno dealer his opinions of such internet companys this was the only thing he could say against them, oh then he started to rattle on about how i would...
jon_r - which dealer are you using? i tried to bargin with one last night on a 172 and he wasnt budging - discount of 600 quid off the list price and a terrible trade in offer - left shortly after that as was a waste of my time
had a quote from new car discount of £12,500 for a 172, full renault 3 yr warranty, 1yr renault recovery.
question is - whats the catch? its a £2100 saving after all, and ive been looking at nearly news at this price too - seems bonkers to me.
all help appreciated
man these are all bargins - where am i going wrong - where do you boys live to get it so cheap..?
best quote has been 1240 quid from eagle star my current insurers
28 years old, max no claims, 1 accident, one SP30 and a central watford postcode.. oh yeah so thats it
FFS just got off the phone to the dealer who seems to know v little about the renault2go sales patter i was getting off their head office yesterday - appears its only 6 month warrenty as standard, but extendable.. at a cost. theyre getting back to me.
cheers tony - yeah would pref a mk1 is...
cheers guys - hopefully the dealer can do the biz by the weekend - 2000 W with only 12k on the clock & he wants a smidge over 10 grand for it
now..
wholl give me 7 for this very fine F2 coupe...
hey guys my first time on these boards as considering buying a 172, what im after is a mk1 2000 or 2001 low mileage unmodified
question is - should i go with a renault dealer, pay the price and go for the 2 yr warrenty, AA etc or go private - cheaper, take the risk, maybe get an RAC inspection...
