24k service

Popped into Gordon Lamb at chesterfield to get a quote for a 24k service for my 172 and i nearly had a heart attack when they quoted me £199!

I said to them that it didnt need the air filter changing, and if it needed new disks and pads or anything like that not to do it because i am able to do it. The young chap then told me that they wouldnt be able to stap my service book if it needed anything doing and they didnt do it.

Is this the case everywhere or was he just bullsh*tting me?

And does anyone know of anywhere else round this way (im not too far from derby) that is cheaper than gordon lamb? I dont want to take it to the renault dealer at derby because i was told by their sales guy that they dont give sh*t about imported cars when they come in for servicing because its not one of their own!!!!!!!!!

Go to the AA, 24k servie using genuine renault parts £29.60, booked stamped and everything.

what a load of sh*t. if you pay for just the service they have got to stamp your book. who did you speak to?

Mines due its 24k next week. Dixon renault in lincoln want £169 inc VAT.

Cuppy 172, what s the deal with the AA service? Do they come out to the car, change oil and filter then go or do they do a full inspection and check everything else?

Any other opinions? Would you always go to renault dealer or just a VAT regisered garage? (To keep the warranty)

Any help appreciated

I called renualt uk and told them I was going to use the AA service centre in Newcastle to serive my car, they told me it would not void my warranty as long as I use genuine renault parts. So I went to the AA centre and asked them for a price using genuine renault parts, in this case just a oil filter. Orginally it was £37 but you get 20% off as your a AA member.

To be honest they where f**king great, they told me about a few problems with the car, like f**ked driveshaft which has now been replaced under warranty. They stamped my book with the AA stamp (the samp says carried out in line with renaults guidelines, or something like that).

I would not even think of going to renault for a service again, they already raped me of £150 for my first service.
