    Track Day

I am not a member here so I cant post this in the events or track day sub forums. A while ago a few of you guys expressed an interest in doing a track day with Xpowerforums. It was mentioned in the 172 vs ZR debate with RallyMatt. If you are still interested a day has been organised, for more...

    Good natured ZR160 debate...

I attend the Xpowerforums, LEDA track days so I know a few of the guys that post on the forum. I also had a passenger ride with either Matt or Miles (dont remember, lol) at the rally car action day at Castle Combe. I dont want to get involved in a ZR vs Clio debate, but for those of you such as...

    hmmm crash :’(

Ye, but an accident that he probably could have prevented judging from his post. Snufty, I know you have been on track and you know that the backend doesnt just go straight away, its quite progressive and easy to correct unless you are going way too fast. I flick the backend out all the time...

    Williams Vs Valver

Just gonna add a little to the 16v vs Willy debate. I dont really like either of them that much but they are cheap little fun cars. It is quite clear that the Williams is superior car and I dont see how anyone would think otherwise. BUT... I did drive past a Williams on the straight at...

    Handling - Willy Vs 16v

Stan, I dont post much mate, but I read a lot of threads on Cliosport and RSC. Over the last month I have noticed that almost every thread involving you ends up with an argument. If you find it that hard to discuss certain subjects with people, then my advice to you is dont bother. Stop...

    Cambelt Snapped :( :(

Itll cost around 475quid to repair your on old engine at most garages. It is quite likely that you have damaged some valves. My GF cambelt snapped on her 1.2 about 2months ago. She was doing about 30mph and damaged 5 valves. If it was me i would try and get hold of a 1.4 engine and put that...

    Question on EBC

Thats a bold statement! And you must admit that there is no way that you can drive like that on the road. You are basically saying that BenR and many others like me cant drive as they dont experience fade. I have been in BenRs car and I think if you got in his car too then you would change...

    Braided Brake Lines

NO!! They do rot. They are still rubber on the inside. I have an old pair that are in a bad state if you still think they dont rot! They dont last forever.

    Engine size = BHP

LOL!! I read somewhere that in the turbo era BMW used to search some scrap yards as the stock blocks with a 50k on them were better (somehow) than a brand new block!! Would that makes sense Ben? something about the change in the metal. Greener or harder.

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

I knew Ben would be on hand to sort it out! I meant what he said hehe, though all of what i know has come from him, well the stuff thats right anyway. I bet the guys not even going to get it after all that!

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

As I said it depends if the brakes are the limiting factor.
  23. J

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

Say you are running really soft sticky rubber and you have really crap stock brakes. A large 4 pot kit will make a big difference because of the grip level available. If you have skinny little bike wheels on your car and the stock brakes are up to the job then 4 pots will make next to no...
  24. J

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

The limit is how much grip there is between the wheels and the road! If the stock brakes are upto the tasks then performance gains will be minimal.
  25. J

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

Plus with 4 pots you get better pad pressure, longer pad, better clamp effect....etc.
  26. J

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

Tom, Ye they will but only if the stock brakes are not up to the job.
  27. J

    K-Tec 4 Pot Kit For 172

Slugger/KDF, From what I have read you are saying that you can lock the wheels or get the ABS to activate on any grippy surface at any speed? So what wrong with the stock brakes? If they are up to the job then why look at upgrades?
