Cheers for that, the wiring goes out through the same hole in the bulkhead as the bonnet cable, so I guess it must all re-appear under the ECU somewhere...
I'm planning on removing the Racelogic traction control from our Mk1 172 as the car is being sold.. control box is under passenger airbag and wires dissapear into the bulkhead. I presume they then go into the ECU..
Is the ECU under the black metal cover behind the battery? if it is, presume...
How about just spending £120 odd on the Eibach Pro springs kit, never heard a bad word about it on this forum, I fitted the kit the other month, corners much flatter, but not too hard. Of course if you are looking for a drastic drop in ride hight you will need the full monte..
I had a bad run a few years ago, got 3 points then got nabbed at 104, whilst waiting to go to court for that got hit again - another 3 points! went to court for the 104 MPH offence with 6 points on my licence, managed to drive away with another 6 points (giving me 12 total), no ban and a...
Theres a 91 Clio Cup race car for sale on Scooby net, 14k on the clock for £5k. Make someone a nice weekend toy.

I went for the Halfrauds ones for £20, they need a bit of worth with a knife on the back to get them to fit and even then they are not perfect. Id say spend the extra £6 to get the gen ones.
Ive got Racelogic traction and launch control fitted, although Ive not actually got the launch control set up. Have to say that the traction con is great. Has a few slip settings to play about with or you can turn it off, personally I prefer to leave it on the dry setting all the time, even on...
You can buy scratch removal kits, basically a mild abrasive polish, I would use something like T-Cut or a metal polish but be very careful & do a test first, you should be able to remove light scratching ok, if the T Cut leaves more finer scratches use a less harsh polish to get these out.
Should I be concerned?
Had the 172 for 8 months now and it has not been near a Reno garage yet, no matter how hard I thrash the thing i can not get anything to rattle, bang, squeek or fall off. I feel that I am just not having the full Reno experience and are thinking about trading up to a...
Believe EBC blacks are just a good replacement for the OEM ones, not uprated, Greestuff are the fast road/not so fast track which would be similar to the Tarrox.
eeek!, be intrested to know if they did the accessory belt (or whatever its called), 36k service on ours was about same price, but no belt listed on the invoice, schedule says it should be done at 36k.
I have used a Valentine One radar detector for a few years, one of the best for radar (although damm expensive), but have recently started using a Road Angel as there is so much the Valengtine cant pick up. If I bought again would probably spend a few more ££s to get the Origin B2 over the Road...
Confused - I dont understand why the tracking would be altered by loweing springs, the camber sure (but that is non adjustable as standard anyway), but why the tracking?, surely springs have no effect on the front to back positioning of the wheels?
Sports are also a little stiffer than the Pro springs I believe and come in bright red! check the Eibach web site or K Tec for the spec. Most people seem to go for the Pro kit unless they want a radical drop. Fitted pro kit to my wifes 172 yesterday, shes only been round the block so far but...
You are right that batches of colour can vary but should only by by a tiny amount. Silver is a real pig of a colour to match so last thing you want to do is need to re-spray the door. Can you get a look at it alongside your car before you part with the cash?
If its the same as the Mk1, just a couple of cross head screws on the front and the unit pops out, just pull of the wiring plug, on with the new unit and thats it. 5 mins max.
Not put them on yet, but got the EBC blacks (same as K-tec sell) for £19.99 delivered from motorsportworld.com, arrived next day, nice guys, worth a call.
Responded to your other thread.. anyway, cable should be £13, thats what I paid the other week. It really is not that easy on the 172 (compared to any other Clio) as clearance down the back to the bulkhead is real tight and you can not just feed it through as it is clipped to the bulkhead in a...
Viceroy, drop me a PM if you want some instructions, its not easy, but sure is easier once you have spent a few hours working out how to gain best access like I did! new cable costs a very reasonable £13.
Bought ours 8 months ago, same year/reg, with same miles for £7,500, so sounds like £7 - £7.5 to me. You may want to consider taking some of your mods off, dont necessarily add value when you sell (except maybe the wheels) and wont be to everyones taste, could sell them separatly to raise a few...
They may be slippery, if the defect was not there on their last routine mainainance inspection, they may not be liable. I was unlucky enough to buckle two alloys at a cost of £680 after I lost my claim - as you have pics (dated?), a quote for the repairs and reported it strait away that sounds...
dont forget lots of the mags report 0 - 62 not 0 - 60 which is prob where the 7.4 came from. Lots of long strings on this subject in the archives but dont expect a definitive answer as there is and can not be one given that no two cars, drivers, conditions, blah blah blah are the same! for what...
