I sold my last ph1 172 a good few years ago and had a fair few motors since then from big capacity petrol's to boring diesels! I then sold my last car with intent on going back to racing and picked up a cheap run about! The cheap run about ended up being a ph1 172 that I had known for a few...
No didnt buy off Renault!ha I have a miss fire the past while, done the plugs, coilpack and tried different leads! So just went and ordered some heavy duty HT leads and decided to get 4 new injectors while I was at it to hopefully solve the miss! Decided to do all four injectors while im at it...
Well ordered a new set of injectors due to a miss-fire That came in the car. Came not long after servicing it (oil and filter). So I changed to NGK Platnium plugs, new coil pack and tried a new set of leads but still have a miss-fire. Have ordered some injectors, but is it a pig of a job to do...
Im not sure, will have to check the service history when I am home at the weekend, it def sounds like belts anyway, so may save up a few bob for the aux belt's, tensioners and tackle it some weekend
As the title goes, my car has started to make a slight whine when the car is not driving or with any rev on it, I presume its the belt, and hoping its only the AUX Belt, as the cam belt was done at 59k and there is 80k on it now. Can anyone shed some light on the mater for me?
I have the poly bushins already, as I only found out I had the wrong mount because I was upgrading to powerflex. So it doesn't matter too much if it is or isn't polybushed
Just for clarification its not the bush I require, its the actual mount itself
Its the one on the left I require, the one on the right is the one I have, however its smaller than what it should be
Tried a local Renault Garage and got a reply of "a 172 wha?" and then a price which was out of this world expensive at €220. They wouldnt be the most popular car over here in Ireland the renaultsport clio's of that era so I have a feeling would be easier getting it from England
Looking for said for my clio as the incorrect one is in my own. Have tried clio spares but they are not responding to my emails and cant really find anyplace on google!:dapprove: Any info greatly accepted!:p
I will probably order from opie next time, but Im actually from Ireland and wanted to service the car at the weekend and the local motorfactor had castrol and Gulf oil, decided to go for the Gul oil as it seemed to have better spec and recommended by the motorfactor. The castrol was €40 for 4L...
Well I was thinking of saaving up a few €'s and buying a LSD for the clio in the future!
So has anyone else made this up-grade and how do you find it, is it worth all the extra money?!
A gentleman never tells! ;) :P Mind you was a bit more expensive than other ones that were on the market but I paid for quality and finding the best ph1 I could get
I will polybush the whole car, and plan on saving for a LSD and few other bits and pieces. Have started a build thread on an irish car site but will be a slow build on the changes i make! http://octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=52255
Here is a bit of the current spec;
2001 ph1 172
77k miles...
Well I went to upgrade the dogbone to poly bushins but when I took the mount off there was noway in hell the new parts were going to fit:(
Somebody had replaced it before but the whole unit and obviously did not use an OEM part! The one on the left is one from another ph1 clio 172 car and...
Howdy all, joined up here as I am the proud owner of a Ph1 172 clio! Bit of a car nut so looking forward to reading a few threads and asking a few questions!
